Now then.

Fire up your transistor radios and/or internet streaming devices for the 2023 Radio Le Mans content is starting today.

(UK Times as listed on: http://www.radiolemans.co/ where you can 'listen live' )

Wednesday 31st - 10pm - LMP2 Preview

Thursday 1st - 10pm - GT Preview

Friday 2nd - 10pm - HyperCar Preview

Sunday 4th - 9am - Test Day coverage

Monday 5th - 8pm - Test Day Review

Tuesday 6th - 3.30pm - Test Day Review No idea if this is just a repeat or a 2nd review show

Wednesday 7th - 11am - Looks like the start of their race coverage.

91.2FM at the circuit as always.

For good or ill, the RLM commentary is certainly a large part of what makes the race event enjoyable. I do miss the days when they used to play records when there was no track action, you'd walk round the campsites and hear their broadcast coming from each groups' radio.

Some of the tyre / oil sponsor talks they do are a bit dry to say the least, especially when they keep repeating them. You know you`ve arrived though when you hear RLM and John Hindhaugh in particular.

A necessary evil to keep the service going, so I don't begrudge them too much. My favourite Mobil1 infomercial they did one year was when the oil bloke chuntered on for half an hour about how they could develop specific oils for each engine, but then admitted right at the end that all the teams just used the off the shelf version - which to be honest seemed a better advert for their product.

At least the brand sponsorship, eg. from Hagerty, means they don't have to play annoying adverts like in the past.

I've just remembered that in the pre-internet age they played the UK news each hour, to keep you informed what was happening 'back home'. Seems a lifetime ago biggrin

I don't know. I mean it's not like I can repeat the whole of the Mobile1 chat from memory...

Thanks for the tip, great info. Do you know if each of the above are going to be available as podcast episodes as well?

They always have been as far as I can remember - I think it's on the Midweek Motorsport podcast, which you can search for. The RadioLeMans.com podcast feed has race updates on an hourly basis.

Yes, I was thinking of the midweek motorsport podcast, that I’m subscribed to. Will keep an eye. Thanks!
