Excuse me if this is a silly question (or if it's been asked before). Due to an error on my part, I'm in need of a full week entry ticket for LM. I've been reluctant to accept an e-ticket rather than the old style hard copy but I've been offered one by a source who I know to be 100% reliable, having known him for many years.

Questions - can e-tickets simply be passed on to someone else by the original buyer or do they need to be 'transferred' in some way with the ACO?

And when you arrive, do you simply present the e-ticket in the same way as for a hard copy ticket?

I hope so ! I bought an e-ticket off a chap on here. I have a pdf on my phone and I have printed a hard copy. I believe the camping ticket gets exchanged for a sticker when you get there. I assume GA e-tickets get exchanged for wristbands, otherwise I'll be getting my phone out every 10 mins.

2022 we had nice (compact) combined GA & GS tickets downloaded onto phone. Plus did an A4 copy (specified paper size for back up).

2023 at moment have done A4 paper ticket (GA plus GS combined) to fold up and put in those clear wallets on a lanyard and have downloaded a pdf on phone -away at moment but did mail Ticket office to see if there really is an E version with a bigger QR code to save zooming in on pdf of Ticket. Has anybody downloaded an E version as FAQs suggest it’s possible?

Wristbands work for extra ACO area access but need a QR code or similar to be scanned in and out.

All our tickets in unnamed so transfers need no ACO input.

Some agents did produce a nice credit card sized combined ticket on a lanyard for either main race or Classic last year.

Thanks very much for this. Puts my mind at rest a bit more.

Can you just clarify this bit -

Wristbands work for extra ACO area access but need a QR code or similar to be scanned in and out.

Don't you get the wristband when you present your ACO membership card? That's how it's always worked before?

And where is the FAQ that refers to e-tickets?

E-ticket shown in same way as hard copy. Our group has mixtures do to late comers and buying off others. I don't think tickets have to be transferred via the ACO. I have bought multiple e tickets direct from ACO for our group and if it was as the person who bought them they would all show my name. I printed my E-ticket off last year so on paper and had it saved in an email in case I lost it.

Yep wristbands obtained when show card at ACO desk - was trying to say they (wristbands) work for those type of internal access areas whereas the scanned QR codes/bar codes etc are needed for GA access and exit to circuit - where you need control on whose going in and out.

Yes - it is a completely transferable document as per an ACO printed ticket.

Yes. The e-ticket has a QR code, ACO printed tickets have a barcode. Both are only the 28 digit ticket number. Being a Luddite I print all my e-tickets as the risk is my device will discharge fully at the most embarrassing time.

If you are the original purchaser of the e-ticket there is an option in your account to get a QR code direct to your mobile device if you want to cut out the PDF middleman.

There is a subtle difference (in addition to QR code v barcode) in what is on the face of the tickets: the 2023 ACO printed Beausejour ticket has a bit which says it will be exchanged for a sticker. Whereas a 2023 e-ticket has a huge health warning about what happens if a second person presents the same (QR) code.

I’ve sold e-tickets to others. Passed on the pdf.

Parking this year, apparently the original purchaser will be sent a sticker prior to the event. Just have to be mindful of buying these it seems.

There is nothing stopping someone selling their e-ticket to multiple people, so reliable source is the main thing.

I always have a full copy of the tickets on me and a spare set in the car. However I usually make a cut down version with the barcode or QR code that can be worn with a lanyard. Never been questioned about I’m using it in this form. As long as it is recognized on the gates or hand scanners is all that matters.

I've been looking at e tickets for sale. I'd be concerned about buying them form an unknown source as they could have been sold several times and only the first to arrive will get in.

I notice there is one seller on here who has only just joined PH to sell their tickets. Not sure I'd trust buying them.

I've just managed to get a full week e-ticket from the ACO's resale site. You have to get in really quick but it does work.

As to parking, it's strange. I've been sent windscreen stickers by the ACO for the tickets that they had already sent me in hard copy, but not for the two e-tickets I bought subsequently. Which seems a bit bizarre....

Are there any benefits to getting ACO membership?

Any extra access etc?

You have to pay about 30 Euros for the privilege, but there is an ACO member area on the inside of the track by the Dunlop bridge. Cold beer, seating and a big screen. You can also see the track from there too.

I believe there are also member only showers and toilets under the ACO grandstands opposite the pits, but I've only read about them, not actually been there yet.

€46 this year. Same additional cost if you take in a guest.

There are indeed very nice regularly cleaned toilets and showers under the Durand T17 grandstand with a cafe upstairs. I've been an ACO member since 1997. Wouldn't go without it. You also get early access to ticketing, cheaper tickets and discount in all of the ACO shops.

I only purchased it to get the discounted tickets and early access to book. But thinking of just going through an agent next year as we still struggled to get everything we needed.

Who is the best agent do you reckon ? We used Motorsport tickets in previous years, but after TD took them over, we got properly shafted. We have used TD before, but I'm a bit reluctant to use them again after how unhelpful they were this year.

Although I bought my own tickets through the ACO for my little group, I still help out the old pals I used to go with by getting their tickets as well. I've used 1st Tickets for them for many years now and have found them 100% reliable. It's fortunate that my pals don't camp so the entry, parking and grandstand seats were relatively easy to obtain. They arrived on Saturday. These have been difficult times for the agencies. Like many ordinary spectators they've been seriously messed about by the ACO, but I would thoroughly recommended Brian and his gang at 1st Tickets.
