I am an ACO member and have just got a leaflet through the post from ACO that says:

"Congratulations, you've got your admission tickets for this year's race. Don't delay, book your passes for La Chapelle before it's too late. 46 Euros per person"

In all other previous years the members area at La Chapelle has always been included as part of my membership. Are they now charging extra just to go in to that bit?

I'm never surprised by what the ACO do but they're taking the mick now if that's not included in the membership!?

Not an ACO member, but nothing would surprise me with the way they have handled this year's event.

I'm still going, but it has left a bad taste in the mouth and I'm actively looking at other options for next year.

Same here. They do seem to have thought F*** the fans this year, let`s just milk the corporate cow. Spa looks good for next year, although I see Silverstone are trying to get the WEC back.

I joined for the first time this year and access to members areas wasn’t included with the lowest price membership option

i had the same. not sure i want to pay an extra 46 euro's to access that area TBH. i usually take my old wrist bands and if they use the same system and they closely match i will put an old one on and just walk in.

I'm expecting everything to be more or less back to normal next year, possibly with a sudden glut of camping and GE tickets coming available from the ACO late in the game (when they realise that no, all those corporates who rushed to be at the 100th Le Mans weren't actually there for the race/sport, just because it way the 100th so aren't coming back fro the 101st Le Mans so Bleu Nord is now just an empty grass field).

Skip 2023/return in 2024 is my plan.

And as for Silverstone, having done Portimao this year even if there is a Silverstone race in 2024 i'd have to think a few more times than twice about bothering with it. A weekend of 25C sun at the mini-Spa vs. a cold day at the Milton Keynes billiard table...humm...

Yes that’s right. Membership is 64 EUR plus 46 EUR for each person to access the ACO enclosure. You can bring 2 guests I believe. It was similar last year albeit the per person entry has gone up from 15 to 46 EUR over the past 5 years.

Nothing new, been that way for a couple of years now.

Membership has reduced from 105e by the equivalent amount. If you want La Chapelle just pay the difference and you're back to 105.
I think guest passes are up a bit though, now 20e each I think.

So it seems when I renewed my membership last year (having had a years break due to covid) I paid about 120euros (from memory) for membership and for me and my wife to go into the members bit. What I didn't realise is that despite my membership now expiring at the end of June 2023, I have already used our 1 race's entry into the members bit at last years race. So if I renew again now I can get into the members parts but I'll have exactly the same issue at next years race!
