Arriving late at a campsite
Discussion
Hi
I plan to arrive very late Fri night/sat morning (maybe 2 or 3am) to a campsite (hopefully Bleu Nord/Sud). Is there any problem with doing this in terms of vehicle access/marshalls or even being able to find my pitch? Realize not ideal but rather get the journey out the way rather than stopping enroute Fri night. My tent is a popup so at least that's something :-)
thanks
Gareth

The only 2 slight issues are finding your pitch, in the er, pitch dark. Took me 20 mins 2 years ago to find mine on BN at 1am. The other slight issue is if your neighbours have decided you aren't coming and have spread out, hopefully they'll be awake. Other than that it's really not too bad. Both these things happened to me and were both sorted in 30 mins.
This was my plan this year, albeit slightly earlier in the week. It was amended en route as it was absolutely pissing it down, and although I was arriving at BSJ so not looking for a pitch number, I still had to park up and did not like the prospect of not getting stuck. Stopped 30 miles short to have a sleep for a few hours, although I had my accommodation on a towbar behind me and consequently that decision was a bit easier!

Are you assuming that the pitches will have been marked out correctly We've had trouble every other year, but they usually sort something out. If you're lucky you get 2 pitches.
I've never had any issues with the pitches not being marked, clearly and logically.I HAVE had many issues with gate staff who can't understand that same clear logical layout. More than once I've been following the student on their bike and just turned off and driven down a row and stopped by an empty pitch. Queue cyclist catching up with me and waving arms. Queue me pointing at the pitch number on ticket/the identical pitch number on the little plastic flag in the ground.
No mon amie, when I'm in row F and we've just passed the end of rows C, D, and E I'm not going to follow you when you pedal past the end of row F and into the sunset.
