How long is it taking to get checked in at Eurotunnel these days? Are there loads of extra checks for everyone or just doing at random (especially around COVID). We will arrive earlier just in case it takes a while, but interested in feedback from people who have gone recently

Took me about an hour to get through the ticket booths last Thursday, but no delays at all after that, bit odd as it wasn’t busy at all

you can register your vaccination details on the eurotunnel site prior to leaving which is supposed to reduce checks on-site

I went out on the 25th May.

Pre-logged Covid details as required. Pretty sure as long as that is done they don't bother checking at all. I classed as un-vaxed due to the 270 day rule on Jab 2. Uploaded Antigen test results and all OK. Smooth sailing through check-in.

UK border control is more stringent, more questions etc. tbh ost of the delays are with UK and French Border checks and the distinct lack of staff.

We were delayed on the way back due to a train stopping in the tunnel, Folkstone to Calais.

Trucks are being managed well on the M20, just allow extra time for the 50mph average speed section.
