Would i need any cash in the track to buy beer/food, or can i pay with card everywhere?

Thanks

Thanks to Covid most of France will now not only take cards but also do so constactlessly.

Only if the portable card reader works, I’d have some cash just in case

Yea, carrying a few Euros is sensible - but there are always the on-site cash machines (that don't include an extra rip-off charge from memory) if you REALLY need that model car and the seller is cash only.

Didn't see anywhere that didn't take cards and my mates bought drinks from almost every vendor inside the track. For me I have a bit of a problem blindly tapping my card on a card reader when I'm drunk, I've been stung by this in the past getting overcharged. For that reason when a little tipsy I used cash instead but cards seemed to be universally accepted, even at the fairground stuff.

Yep, was card everywhere for us too. Even the guy selling ACO ear defenders from his little 3 wheeled bike below the Dunlop grandstand had a card machine.

Didn’t spend a single cent of actual money in a 12 day stay

Yeah cards taken everywhere but in some places near Dunlop bridge the signal was too poor it took around 5 minutes to process the payment

Same here, card everywhere. Only cash euro's were used giving the waitress at a coffee shop a tip.

Not the same for us. Restaurants near the dodgems on the flat section were taking card for drinks and demanding cash for food. Clearly a dodge. Same with a couple of the other bars.

Team Langoustine camp site we were in also cash only for drinks.

Tram to town was cash only.

Definitely glad we took some euros.

CBW at Saint-Saturnin on the Friday was cash only for drinks and I also expect food.

Did buy some beer at track in cash as was a lot quicker for bar staff where they just had small card readers not directly linked to tills.

Did use Monzo card which was great for logging location of Esso garage in slow dual carriageway section of Rouen coming home and spot exchange rate. Looked at price of 98 fuel on autoroute and it was Euro 2.435 compared to around 2.20 off autoroute.

Car reckons it was 606 miles from Kent out Portsmouth, CBW trip and back to Dover at 20.6mpg so 134 litres - over 60p a mile with tolls frown

Yep, the on-platform ticket machines have always taken cards and I paid the staff in the garden shed ticket office with my card.
