Discussion
ok lads veteran 24hr race goer up to about 3 years back .. fancy the classic this year.. how does it work normally id get my camping tickct in the track by porsche bit last minute and rock up in my small camper van on thursday night.... hit up teh brittish welcome on friday.. or the car shows at arnage find the pub up by teterouge firday then watch the racing getting pissed and cycling about..
the classic is obviously lots of small races,, is all teh paddock accessable say like at goodwood MM / revival .. is the camping just like 24hrs with people in nice cars to wonder around.. whats a decent campsite.. i could just park up outside on teh verge like le froggys do..
assume there are some merchandise stands to blow some cash when intoxicated , car clubs stands etc tec so plenty to do?
this will be a quick esacpe for me from a busy work shedule, so would euro tunnel it down on thursday night...
cheers for im adavane for any advice

Basically there's different classes for the different cars, then they get practice sessions, day races and the night race, so there's generally always something going on.
On top of that there's plenty of access to the pits and staging areas, lots of club stands to walk around and other stands/merchandising etc to see
The campsites are always a good place to go car spotting and chat to owners.
It's not the turn up, sit in the campsite getting pissed event like the 24 hours seems to be.

Yup loads of access to the (very large) staging area where the cars line up before going out on-track. It’s a huge space within the circuit (behind the pits) where the cars drive through, and there’s a lot of cars there waiting to go out or just parked up. Food and drink in that area as well. Proper festival atmosphere. I spent many hours there in 2018.
If you get a program and keep an eye on the clock, you can pick the races you’re interested in and position yourself in good time. I think in 2018 there were 6 classes in 1 hour slots and each class ran 4 races (adding up to 24hrs).
Camping is like the 24hrs, but with fewer dheads (quite honestly). Fewer merchandise shops but who cares about that!

great thank you all i agree about the bell ends ..
sadly the 24hr is no longer the festival it used to be with way to many annoying loonatics just on a booze binge.. i think the fences went up about 8 years or so to protect the drivers from them .. rather than crowed from cars put me off going anymore TBH
it seems then classic sounds more interesting so will give it a look,
thanks
