TD - Event Tents - Anyone Else??
Discussion
As the days tick by the excitement grows!!!!
There are 7 of us now (was 8 but one c*cked his passpport up!) staying at the event tents, some have been many moons ago and some have never been me included!
Anyone else staying here??? Very impressed with welcome guide and suggested setup with catering etc. all within the site.
Couple of things, we are taking bikes to get around - looking at the recently released list of things you can and cannot take I can see bikes (and roller skates lol!) are ok, is there a dedicated space to keep them at TD or is ie easier just to leave them in the back of the can when not in use?
I take it the cars are parked close to the tents, appreciate its not next door but a short distance away if we need to fetch/store anything.
A first world problem I appreciate but what do people do about charging phones? It will also be my camera for the trip so don't want it dying on the first day. Could always take a powerbank but thats only going to last so long as well, intrigued to hear peoples workarounds. We don't have any power in the event tents, the lighting is all solar so no option to plug in.
The catering within the compound - is this pitched at a sensible level to try and keep the guests eating on site or is it inline with costs across the event??
Sorry for all the newbie questions!

Hi. We are going with TD Event Tents. This will be our 4th time…. last being 2018.
There will be a section within the secure compound for the cars, so yep, won’t be next to your tent but will be accessible. Bikes I guess you will be able to leave next to your tent if you wish or maybe put them back on car when not in use?
We take power banks which usually get us through. TD do also have a load of sockets available too for people to charge phones etc. at their own risk obviously.
The food/drink pricing is expensive from memory. Not a extortionate as at circuit but still fairly steep.
Hope that helps?

Thanks Ben that’s really useful, seems a really good setup from the welcome pack and stuff I received in the week.
We picked it for ease really, tip up with clothes/overnight stuff and away we go.
One of the group (support van!) is bringing a MWB Sprinter with the bikes in so they can live in there when we aren’t using them.
Great to know there are some sockets but just found my wife has a power bank so going to max that out and bring it with me.
As you have been before and specifically to the Event Tents - anything else you would recommend from experience??

Can’t think of anything major. Event Tents are as good as they sound. Site is always very secure. Toilets and showers kept clean etc. Sometimes a small queue for showers at peak time but nothing horrific and it moves fast as there are a good number.
The Event tents site is about 5 mins walk from Porsche curves viewing (through Beausejour) or we can also access the other TD section just down the road that has its own private viewing of Porsche Curves from other side of track. We can also use their facilities too.

Not sure about Event Tents, but for charging I did some pretty bad man maths and got an Anker Portable Power Station...
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Anker-Portable-Station-Ge...
Completely over the top for just phones but it should cover everything we need!

I have one of these…..

Has always lasted me but is a few years old now and more updated phones will drain it faster so got a 2nd one for this year, albeit slightly smaller.

These things are pretty useful, I've used them on my dash or against the tent when I'm away from camp to charge power banks, they work very very well in my experience. Obviously the more sun the better.
