Probably not such an issue around the general circuit, I'm thinking mainly in the grandstands at the start and finish...
I'm taking a Nikon D750 plus, 24-120 f4, 70-200 f2.8 and Sigma 150-600 sport f5-6.3
What combo would be best from a grandstand view, would the 150-600 be overkill and p-off people sat around us?
Also taking my Insta360 One x2 for some 360 photos and video.
What's everyone else taking?

Don't worry - you won't even be in the running for the Biggest Lens award with that. What combo would be best from a grandstand view, would the 150-600 be overkill and p-off people sat around us?

Are these all for "half frame" DSLRs? A friend has a full frame Nikon, so has less magnification for a given focal length, so 500mm would be equivalent 350mm on a half frame.
With modern pixel counts you can go a long way with a standard lens and some cropping - it works for phones
What is a half frame dslr? If you mean cropped sensor then I think that is about 1.6 so your 500mm would be the equivalent of 800mmWith modern pixel counts you can go a long way with a standard lens and some cropping - it works for phones

The D750 is full frame so 600mm = 600mmWith modern pixel counts you can go a long way with a standard lens and some cropping - it works for phones
On a cropped sensor, like the D7500 which has a crop of 1.5, the 600 would be 600x1.5 so 900mm equivalent.
With full frame, you can often either crop in post-production or set the camera to use cropped mode when shooting.

I have come to the conclusion that I never look at photos of cars on track and it is the people shot that interest me more so I'm, leaving most stuff at home and just taking a canon eos R and 35mm..
Agreed. My back can't handle carrying a load of camera gear these days either so will make do with phone photos and maybe my Panasonic Lumix point and clicksize13 said:

11 metres - that'll take some packing
Brilliant idea, as the catch fencing is such nuisance. But how do you aim? Do you use the video output, or just keep pressing the button and hope
Fortunately, it packs down to about 1.5m. I've used it for work for years so it's fairly well-traveled, having even survived airports.Brilliant idea, as the catch fencing is such nuisance. But how do you aim? Do you use the video output, or just keep pressing the button and hope
The top part is a DJI Osmo, which is strapped to a section of the telescopic mast (I avoid the top section - the flex scares me). My phone then connects via wifi, and I can adjust as I like from the app on the phone, where I can also see the picture. It's also stabilised, so looks nice and steady.
I need to remember the microphone this year. That was just using the phone for sound.
I use a Nikon D4 with 200/400 f4 lens plus a 1.4 teleconverter, and that does just fine. From the stands you'll need the Sigma zoom. My settings are manual - f4 for blurred background up to f11 depending on what and where, ISO auto and minimum shutter speed at 1/500th up to 1/1000th. HTH

Nothing here shot beyond 180mm (full frame) with very little cropping, all from public positions. Was told not to bother bringing the camera but so glad I did, pretty decent locations for photos if you hunt them out...
