Beeare the "grey" card
Discussion
MODS PLEASE CHANGE TITLE TO "BEWARE"
I went to Moto 24. When trying to access parking some fat and stupid security guard was anxiously and desperately trying to get me to show my insurance and a "grey" card...he even had the translation on his phone.
He was very nervous and agitated. Bear in mind 99% of attendance at Moto 24 is French i was probably the first Brit he had come across.
I obviously told him nicely to do one, but the point is someone has probably briefed security staff to ask for this stuff that doesn't exist.
If anyone talks to the ACO over there can they get them to have a word with the security firm to actually brief their staff on what their remit is. Must be some anti- Brexit issues out there somewhere

I'd imagine they want to see bike registration docs at the Motos 24h because over the years so many people would take crap old bikes in and just run them on the limiter until they died - I went a few times in the early 2000's and this was a usual sight in the campsites at night. Half a mile away whilst walking back to town you could still hear them.
The French worked around this by taking engines in the back of vans and then doing the same, silly trumpet-like exhaust and rev it until it died....great for noise, not so much if you were camping anywhere near it though!
We once saw a small group who'd setup a 125 with the throttle taped open at full chat and they were throwing their empty beer bottles at the gear lever - hoping it would shoot off....they even refuelled it when it ran out and started again.

That makes sense, but I was in a car. I really didnt see why it was anything to do with his job, but im certain he was given that instruction probably for all vehicles entering the site. The French worked around this by taking engines in the back of vans and then doing the same, silly trumpet-like exhaust and rev it until it died....great for noise, not so much if you were camping anywhere near it though!

He was nice, but nervous...bad case of BO but that shouldn't have affected anything except my nose
