I booked a package through a company traveling on Brittany ferries. If I turn up at the port in a vehicle other than the one I registered with the company would I be allowed on the ferry?

On the couple of occasions it’s happened to me I have been allowed on. It just slows down the checking in process

Do you not have a phone number for the booking agent? Phone them and change your number plate on the booking.

Their main concern will be whether you're new vehicle is longer / taller than the one already booked. I swapped my booking (made April 2021) from a car to a camper van and Brittany applied the current prices when working out the revised cost, so I lost my advantage of having booked early.

Yea I have the number but the charged a member of the party £35 just to change the number plus extra as he switched to a camper. As the new vehicle is within the standard foot print and height I would have thought it would be the same price.

Provided it's a more or less like-for-like swap you shouldn't have any issues. Just rock up and say "Yea, the booked car broke down and we had to swap to this one". And that assuming anyone actually askes you!

Thanks, that's what I was thinking.

I had this problem a few years back, called the ferry company (Can't remember which one) they said there was no charge for changing the booking but they couldn't do it as it wasn't in my name. Told me I Had to go through the agent and, of course, the agent charged an "admin fee" even though I pointed out that the ferry company had told me the change was FOC. You might be fine if you just rock up but is it worth the risk for few quid?
