Question about camping - Motorhome or car?
Discussion
Hi
We are a group of 5 people travelling to Le Mans this year for the first time, so we are looking after a bit of advice in terms of which vehicle to rent for camping.
We are travelling by plane from the UK, so we need to rent a vehicle, the main question is... whats better, rent a motorhome, which is more confortable to sleep etc, or rent a car and buy sleeping tents etc in the circuit?
Thanks

Tents are cheap enough to buy at the local hypermarket (& others). Motorhomes won’t be so easy to hire as a car & may undoubtedly be more expensive. If you’re going on one of the private campsites you could always take a pre-erected tent & some operators even provide bedding or sleeping bags (1st Tickets as a PH partner do this on their secure sites at Bleu Nord & Garage Vert).
Do your research now.
In previous normal years, motorhomes have been fully booked well in advance. I recall that someone managed to find one in Belgium. They're not cheap to rent, and hire may be from Saturday to Saturday with a risk of extra charges for bedding, saucepans, cups and plates.
5 in a normal motorhome could be tight. An extra tent would help, but you're heading towards 2 pitches, as you'll need a gazebo, a barbecue and some outside seating
