Hi All

Last went to the Classic back in 2012 and booked to risk the parade laps through the car club I attended with. The club attend every Classic and win prizes for their display of historic cars. However this year the club are not able to book parade laps, being told there is no availability.

Looking on the website it seems laps are only available when you book the most costly package.

Does anyone have any ideas of how I can get hold of a parade lap pass? I'm taking my 11 year old son for the first time and would really like to get him around the track.

Thanks

Jon

I think the likes of 1st Tickets (a PH partner) might be able to assist as that's who we hope to travel with & I know they were advertising the option back in late 2020 before the world went a bit wonky!! - the parade laps are one of the reasons I want to do the Classic with a few friends, plus the ability to see some of the racing cars from my childhood being exercised biggrin

Give Brian at 1st Tickets a nudge (aka Chumracing) - there is also a specific thread posted by Ben on the 2022 Classic although I'm led to believe the ACO have been dragging their heels more than normal on the detail of things which is why things might be a bit quiet on the event currently.

1ST Tickets do have Parade Laps available. Im thinking of booking, is it just one lap you get or a few?

I think you get 20 minutes of "parade laps" if my research is correct. Have a look on Y/T to see how things tend to go.

I've booked through 1st Tickets for LMC parade laps, think they are Saturday morning. Taking my lad who is now 16 so can come on the lap, last time I booked I had to cancel as he was only 14.

Just putting it out there…

I have Friday parade lap tickets booked with agent trying to secure Saturday instead.

However, if anyone has Saturday laps and swapping to the Friday would suit you better, I would be willing to swap.

Cheers.

EDIT….

Managed to change from Friday to Saturday. Thanks to Ian at Fasttracktours who has been great with our arrangements.

Ferry times with Condor Ferries are useless, however everything else has fallen into place now. This should be a great few days.

I think you’re right Chris….I got 3 spirited laps in from memory!

No speed restriction after the first lap behind the lead car…it was flipping awesome to drive the circuit smokin

Would definitely recommend if you can get a slot!

The 1st Tickets parade laps are part of the PH group on the Saturday morning as I've just had my booking confirmation today with the info.... I think it's one of those "I'll do it once" type things given the cost at circa £200 per car wink

1st Tickets still have a few parade laps left for the Saturday if anyone is interested – you'll get to park in the PistonHeads club display too smile

Just out of interest…

Does anyone know whether someone operates taking photos of the cars going around that you can buy the photos from them afterwards as a souvenir?

In an official or unofficial capacity?

Change of plans means a Friday morning parade lap ticket has become available (ticket in Berkshire, UK) - drop me a PM or email beer
You'd need to be in a pre-71 or 'happy few' car off the list (which is actually pretty inclusive) and have a crash hat with you etc.

Survived. Great experience. Big smile on my face throughout.

I see what people mean about it being quite hectic, certainly needed to concentrate. But being sensible it was okay keeping safe.

Couple of opportunities to make some progress, but treated it for what it was.

(Didn’t get insurance in the end. So happy days also saved the cash!)

I was at the back of the 08.00 group & had an "epic" experience which I'll count as a big tick off the Bucket List - we only saw about 7 cars on our laps & made some serious "progress" driving safely with the added entertainment of having all the marshalls videoing the session with their camera phones as we passed their posts.

I'd definitely do it again if I came with friends thumbup

Picture after the end of our final lap as we catch the group up at Dunlop Bridge to exit the track
