I've done a search on this but most of the results are from years ago and I guess things might have changed.

We're looking to book for 2022, ASAP really as I see things are selling out. We are first timers so hoping some of you veterans can give me tips on what campsite to go for?

It will be 2 people with 1 car. I think the campsite will just be used as a base and we will be out wandering most of the time, especially on the saturday and sunday... I can catch up on sleep at home!

Not fussed about a "quiet" site or ones with decent facilities, a good shower would be nice but not essential, i'm an experienced camper so i'm used to going rough for a few days.

All but Beausejour are sold out on the ACO website so unless we go for that then i'll be booking through an agency, 1st tickets have limited availability on most of the sites. Although Beausejour does look a little out of the way, we'd like to be a short is walk from the action.

Any advice and must do and do nots?

If you want to be close to the action, then Houx.
It's quite lively, and don't expect much from the facilities, but is a good crack!

Houx Annexe? We’ve stayed there since Karting Nord was closed and i think it’s a good mix of location, facilities and atmosphere. Bonus is that the pitches are numbered so your arrival time does not dictate your location, although there is a lot of spread out camp plots by Friday.

Location is near the end of the line tram stop, so you can get into town easily on Friday or buying supplies from the Carrefour.

Facilities are good and the cleaning staff do a very good job in my opinion in keeping them in an acceptable condition.

Atmosphere - the campsite feels quite quiet to me now compared to some of the antics I remember from 10-years ago. The years when there used to be fires, fireworks, cars tearing round etc. Feel long gone.

Security is the weak point and i guess it might be like that on all of the public campsites. On Sunday you do see a few dodgy looking people scanning plots.

All sold out anyway on the ACO website. Not sure what our usual ticket provider has access to and 2 years away from La Sarthe has reduced my enthusiasm a bit at the moment.. Plus there is the classic to look forward to.

You need to book a place as soon as possible, so you have the possibility to camp. Even if you are an experienced camper, you need a shower and good conditions. I also have a lot of experience with camping, but I seek good conditions. And among the recent places I've been, and it's affordable, is - https://jasminebreezerv.com. The conditions are good, and you will have peace and beautiful scenery. My family and I loved it so much that we booked a place for summer vacation again. I think you would like it.

I would book a spot quick, beausojour is a long way from things and if that's all you can get then at least you haven't got far to go for the Porsche curves! Any other campsite will do

Yes, do it now, if anything's left. You deserve the best.

As for showers, I can remember when they weren't compulsory.
