It’s happening, spectators are allowed (barring some massive last minute covid change) and even the weather forecast looks okay.
Perhaps one central thread for those making the trip with news from the ground and those watching at home to follow the race week events.
Well done to all those who have braved out the booking process with fingers crossed throughout. I hope you have an incredible weekend and stay safe. I look forward to hearing about what it is like in and around the circuit. I think you are in for a unique weekend, with quite a different perhaps special atmosphere.
It appears at this stage there are still plenty of tickets available through the ticket site, even options in the ACO stand which I find amazing. Signs are things are going to be quiet trackside.
It will be a home set up for me. A few things conspired to make it difficult to do the trip in the end, covid aside. A combination of disappointed, gutted and sad not to be there again. This year will definitely be one to look back on as ‘I was there’ in terms of being part of the ‘2021 Skeleton crew’.
2022 should be back to what we had planned for 2020. I dearly hope so.
Anyway, race week approaches. Whether at home or on the ground, enjoy LM2021!

I wonder if we'll get to learn anything about Mobil 1 oil this year... I’ve invested in Eurosport and have got the beers in so I can watch it from home. 24 hours on the sofa - It’s going to be tough.
It would be nice if Glickenhaus can give Toyota some sort of challenge, but I won’t get my hopes up too much. Looking forward to quali so we can get some idea of where they stand.

Worth a listen, it starts to get me in the Le Mans mood and they're available to listen for free!

Same here - Eurosport signed up for and beers in. Merguez in and some reblochon to cook up a tartiflette. Plus some Rilettes du Mans arriving on Friday!! ooh la la! Don't forget sessions on today and tomorrow on Eurosport It would be nice if Glickenhaus can give Toyota some sort of challenge, but I won’t get my hopes up too much. Today's times will be more telling - although Glickenhaus certainly have done themselves proud already. 'Surely' Toyota will stretch their legs a bit...? But the P2s are nipping at the heels of the P1s as well... Things could get a little tasty!

I struggle a bit with mid week Motorsport. I should love it and I enjoy radio Le Mans for the 24hrs, but I just find the production values so poor it just feels like ‘noise’. Music in the background constantly, differing voice volumes and sound quality.
Tired this preview but switched off around the early F1 news bit.
The #17 Idec Sport LMP2 Oreca has been scratched from the race so that leaves us with 61. Seems only yesterday I watched Ian Bracey's Ibec at my first Le Mans visit - but upsettingly that was 43 years ago infact.
If you didn't see it last night Dwight Merriman had a nasty accident when he put the car heavily into the barriers on the approach to the Dunlop chicane. Montoya then had a virtually identical accident in the Dragon Speed car - but it seems that car has been bolted back together. These LMP2 cars are seriously quick despite the ACO hobbling them, 200mph on the approach to Indianapolis.
Reassuring to see that Montoya has a pie-eating profile unlike all of those stick-thin whipper-snappers.
Oh - and my prediction is that one of the Jota LMP2 cars will win outright.....
