But the race will be over by the time you come out of quarantine
No, as from Tuesday next you coming to France will be required to self-isolate for seven days! https://www.thelocal.fr/20210526/breaking-france-t...
When on earth will this bloody curse end, I ask myself.
Honestly who cares. I want to go as much as anyone. My advice is we need to get over it and look forward to next year. Speculation, rumours, broken promises and the ACO all mean setting yourself up for probably another big disappointment. I was supposed to go to Thailand for a trip of a lifetime in April 2020. Obviously it was cancelled so stupidly we rebooked for November. You guessed it that was cancelled. We now wont bother to book until we know the facts and know that we will be able to go instead of setting ourselves up for yet another disappointment. This is the way life is at the moment so why feed us all with information that cannot be verified just giving people hope then pissing on them yet again.

From several sources today the figure of 50,000 has been quoted. I doubt I'll see any of you, and we'll all be ensconced in front of the TV watching the race. Based on the fact that the members of the ACO have first pickings, most of the tickets will be allocated to them anyway I believe. See you all next year.

I’m with you regarding big planned holidays, we’ve parked those this year. Le Mans is a little more intriguing though as the possibilities are more varied and as such a last minute jump on the Eurotunnel, stay where you can get (given low spectator numbers there will be plenty available) and watch from public areas. So long as we can travel I will still go, ticket or not Edited by Rs2oo on Thursday 3rd June 17:58

If the number is that low, would the ACO want to sell any to people out the schengen zone? If you sell 10-20% to Brits happy to gamble on being allowed across the channel (I'd certainly risk the face value cost of a GE ticket and a half or quarter share of a camping ticket) and then end up with even fewer people on site to spend money.
Also, I suspect they could 'sell out' 50k ticket just to team/sponsor guests and other VIPs.
This morning's Ouest France has the following headline
Le Mans. From the public to the 24 Hours: no for the motorcycle, details imminent for the car
Unlike the 24 Heures motos (12-13 June 2021), held behind closed doors, the 24 Hours of Le Mans auto (21-22 August 2021) are preparing to welcome the public. In what number?
I cancelled my room reservation last week, very poor entry and France has made it clear that we, the British, are not welcome.
And the UK's COVID numbers are climbing............

A lot could happen in the next 2 months.
According to the Evening Standard *, the French will let us in, provided we're double jabbed and have a clean antigen test, but can we get tickets?
But our next wave is starting, and its a tug of war between the delta virus and the vaccine. It'll either all go away, or summer is canceled.
And France has its next wave to come. The Indian and Nepalese variants are queuing up already

- Not convinced the Evening Standard are right, as the UK is not in the top category
