Speeding in France...

No points as far as I am aware. Also license suspension may not be possible either I’m not sure. I wondered if there would be more fine or skip straight to car confiscation?
While they might not be able to suspend a French licence, they can confiscate your UK one. As its a legal requirement to have your licence while driving in France, it's an unusually elegant way of getting the same result.A couple of years ago, I read that they'd issue you with a French license, and suspend that, so they could still do you for driving on a suspended license. I'm not aware that it ever happened and they may have given up with Brexit, but I do wonder if the fines are still enforceable in the UK
Returning home from Classic Le Mans 2018 i was awarded a fine of 50 euro's speeding at 55 kph in a 50kph zone through some tiny village north of Alencon.
The letter appeared around 2 weeks after i got home ,i paid online.
I actually view this as a small badge of honour ,i was in an asthmatic vw camper which at 55kph felt like i was about to jump into warp speed........,i guess it was penance for many previous offences doing the sunrise run from dieppe to rouen
in convoy with other outlaws .
