Hull - Zeebrugge ferry

Gutted to see the Hull - Zeebrugge ferry has been pulled and will not be returning. That was always our preferred crossing and when travelling from Scotland, was a good fit.
Looks like any future LM trips will now involve a long drive through the UK on bks roads
There's still Newcastle to Ijmuiden and Hull to Rotterdam crossings, the former being far better for anyone crossing from Scotland Looks like any future LM trips will now involve a long drive through the UK on bks roads
It’s a long drive from Zeebrugge to Le Mans; going further on to Rotterdam is too much, particularly getting back up on the Monday for the teatime sailing..
Portsmouth St Malo looking more favourable.
Still bks though (need wee nippy Sturgeon to subsidise the ferry out of Rosyth again)...

I reckon 8 hours - a long drive but not impossible. I usually leave LM on Sunday and head for +/- Lille for a night. This gives me most of Monday to explore the surrounding battlefields and amble over for the Monday teatime boat. The boats are up for sale if anyone fancies taking them on

We did Rotterdam one year when the Zeebrugge ferry was getting fixed. It is possible, but did mean a very early dash Monday morning and a bit longer on the road overall. Not something I think we’ll be contemplating to be honest.
A shame, we had some great nights on there.
