Now then Comrades.

As we all will have to be sat on our sofas rather than on a spectator banking or grandstand this year perhaps we need a thread for people to post links to the media coverage of the event.

Hopefully teams and drivers will be doing extra social media and video content to keep people up to date, so if you see anything good post it in here...

Also post up pictures of your viewing setups, bonus points for multiple screens with live timing and in-car video streams...

It has been worryingly quiet about the tv coverage, usually you would have to pay for Eurosport or the WEC app but neither seem to mention the 24hrs yet (WEC site just has a link to buy access to last week's Spa race) perhaps this means some sort of free video stream will be available?

The WEC site also says no coverage of free practice, which is either outdated info or we're going to be listening to the radio for most of Thursday instead.

Some Links to get us started:

http://www.radiolemans.co/ - Audio commentary and hopefully some preview podcasts (I had to turn my adblocker off to get the 'listen live' link to work)

https://www.lemans.org/en/24-hours-of-le-mans - Official site with timetable in various timezones.

https://www.fiawec.com/en/race/show/4643 - FIA WEC site's LM24 page

We'll be needing a cat forecast so we know whether it's a gazebo in the garden or indoors job

I'm planning a projector in the conservatory with the blinds down, but even then, it may be too bright for a big picture, but it'll keep the noise in.

So far, like last year and the year before, Eurosport only mention the race, but the practice may be on Eurosport 2 unless the ACO have to pay for it

There was thread acouple of years ago of how to simulate a trip to France in your garden... sleep in a tent, sit in cheap plastic garden chairs for hours, drink lukewarm Kronenburg's but my favourite suggestion was breakfast consists of the charred remains, left over on the BBQ from the night before... delish

hoping to watch from a garden set up.
I might try to do a few Zoom'z with fellow watchers.

I do need to find someone to wander through my garden and piss on my trees!

We'll need that, as there's no program - I have the last 34

"Countdown to Le Mans Part One" - Radio Le Mans - 8pm (BST) - Friday 11th Sept.

Wednesday 9th September

Radio Le Mans - 2200 - Countdown to Le Mans pt1

In other rumours, ACO Members to get free access to content on the WEC App, and by implication the rest of us will have to pay. Nothing showing on the FIA WEC website yet.

The EWC do this for the bike race - Saturday I was watching all the live timing screens Sunday it was pay up - very naughty. There was no other English coverage available really

They’ve made noises about people not missing anything as the cancellations happened. An ACO email newsletter referenced this yesterday also, saying there would be streaming and radio available. Access will be part of the ACO membership.

I don’t know why, but thinking of putting up my tent in the garden along with a gazebo and projecting the race onto a small area of the side of the house (Just visible to me). I only did camping the first 3-4 years, so don’t don’t why I feel like this may be an occasion to do it? I just want to make the race a bit more of an occasion now we are stuck at home for it.

Try and get the car out for a couple of drives also and recreate the typical food and drink we’d have over the weekend and particular timings. Need to get a pot of rillettes au mans.

I would drive down to your local burger shop and give them 20 quid for a happy meal, I'd also get some strangers to piss outside and around your tent....here we go again laugh

I love rilettes (pronounces riettes) ... At my last visit to the race in '17, I was in Carrefour and I was waiting for my friends to get their personal supply of booze whilst 'guarding' our shopping trolley. I stood next to one of these in-store tv's promoting various products on an endless loop. This was still on a tape and it was very worn. They promoting some fancy brand of rilettes and showed some of the careful and special processes to make their special brand. However because of the degrading of the tape, it looked liked they were emtying a latrine and stirring the content thereof. When I drew the attention to the screen to my friends.... one went very quiet...

I had another look for the Eurosport schedules, and they don't seem to exist, unless you log in, and you only get a week ahead

However, Some bits/highlights were on Quest (freeview) last year, but we probably won't know if they do it again till the week before
