The 88th 24 Hours of Le Mans will take place on 19–20 September, with a smaller crowd than usual. Entry will be granted to all racegoers who have already booked their tickets (until June 29). Ticket sales have been suspended until further notice, pending government announcements and according to the evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic. In the current circumstances, the 24 Hours of Le Mans will be using its global reach to emphasise the need for solidarity and responsibility, two watchwords that epitomise the values of endurance racing and the team spirit that has reigned over Le Mans since 1923.

Okay, that’s positive.

Just realised that I may have cocked up now though!

I’ve grandstand and parking tickets, but I’d held off on buying the general entry tickets. ffs why did I not think of this outcome.

Anyone with general entry e-tickets for sale who are definitely not going now?

If you check the ACO page for the announcement they will sell spectator tickets to those with camping / parking tickets. There is a email address on there.

They'll have no way of cross referencing ticket purchases with who walks through the turnstiles so expect a healthy eBay market for tickets as there are bound to be plenty of spares from group bookings who have any spares, or savvy holders of camping tickets getting a couple of extra GE tickets just to sell on.

On the first no doubt - but I dare say its not who attends, but the numbers so no difference.

Second part looks a little harder to manage. Maybe they will take a hard line...

I’ve calmed down a bit and reread it. Indeed the wording appears to allow tickets for entry to be bought to supplement previous purchases. Phew!

Email sent.

Quoting myself in shame at this poorly phrased sentence.

I did the same, and had the same panic until I re-read the announcement!

I've sent an email as instructed to request GA tickets, so hopefully all will be OK.

Same here - I presume the agents might have tickets left?!

Having already deferred my booking to next year, I have no ticket for this year. I had planned on buying a ticket if spectators were allowed. Does anyone have a ticket or two that they won’t be using?

I believe they do, also they might also be allowed to resell any future returns as there must be plenty of people who might still decide not to go between now and September.

Thinking on - if things get better theyll allow more spectators. If they get worse they'll ban spectators. Anything can and will change between now and then. I will wait until end of August

Thank you, I have emailed them, I'll see if they come back to me. My gut instinct says wait til end August - I can still see the race if my favourite location [here there be monsters] is open

The DailySportscar.com article has:

"Full details in every scenario are still awaited but some ticket sales are understood to be underway with authorised resellers still permitted to sell those tickets that they had already purchased from the ACO prior to today, those totals having been taken into account prior to today’s statement.".
