It was kind of expected, as Belgium had announced no mass gatherings before 31st August, but I did hold out some hope the rules might be relaxed. Anyway, the spa-francochamps site does now say that the revised dates are behind closed doors for the Spa 6hrs. So that's another Eurotunnel crossing which won't get used and more tickets which will probably sit gathering dust in a drawer waiting for next year. I expect more FIA/WEC/ACO news to trickle out over the next few days. Now they've had the virtual race and all the attention that brought, they can now start making other decisions about what's going on.

Please September, please September, please September!!!!

It would also appear that Beijing is in lockdown due to the '19:

I had read on twitter that it's nothing in or out...apart from international flights. Kind of makes you think that they want this st to spread around the world again...hmm

And its kicking off in India again. Vaccines and cures are going really well, but possibly not fast enough to stop another spike this year - I just hope its after September

I can't see countries going from 'no public events' at the end of August to 'events with 250,000 people from around the world' 2 or 3 weeks later. frown

I can...Mallorca has gone from lockdown to flying in thousands of tourists from Germany this week.

I can see a big second peak for sure by October

Keep reading, you need to understand what stage the trials are at.

Currently there is no vaccine available and no guarantee there will be one.

There is also no cure for CV19, only treatment to help reduce its impact whilst your immune system develops and fights the virus.

The 'whole where are we with vaccines'? thing is annoying. We know there are a lot in development and a fair few are in trials, however when companies suddenly start making claims that they have ordered 300m doses based on the oxford one it does make me think that they are probably pretty sure it is a winner. That or they are talking up their share price.

Either way they won't be ready for september. Possibly June next year though.

Governments are paying for the production. It's a gamble worth taking as if it works the cost saving from the rapid deployment is worthwhile.

I think it's more the word "potential" you're missing.

My head cannot contemplate "potential"...can't face another year like this one, not even an option

Just had the email from Spa saying race being held behind closed doors and asking us if possible to let tickets stand for next year rather than take a refund, as we got them on the 2 for 1 offer we have chosen to keep them for next April/May.

If you all in need of a Spa racing fix this year , Then the Total 24hr is so say going ahead with spectators at the end of October , Might pop over the channel if things are relaxed with Hotels /Quarantine .

Be an excuse to use up one of the three tunnel crossings which won’t be refunded this year. Might also need a weekend at the ‘ring if that’s possible. I’ll sell it to the wife that It makes sense to use the crossings or they go to waste, I won’t mention the £300 fuel bill at the end of it.
