If the race goes ahead in September my usual group won't be going, it will be just me and the 13 yr old.
Our normal campsite is a bit remote, and we would be the only ones on it. Fine for me, but I'd rather go somewhere with a bit of security etc because of the lad.

I stayed at Lycian once before, it would be perfect but its too far away from all the places I'll be hanging out.

Is there anything similar near the main stadium that anyone can recommend? Somewhere I don't have to worry about leaving him on his own for 5 minutes when I go for a shower etc, preferably without the usual megga stereos playing through the night.

Never stayed there myself, but Team Langoustine seems very nice. They are located near Tertre Rouge, and also took over the former Thomas Cook site between Houx and Garage Vert.

That's the end of the circuit I need to be. Excellent, thank you

I think it could be a bit quiet, so you have a choice.

The tertre rouge site (is it actually between tertre rouge, Dunlop and the ring road), plus the sites near Houx and Maison Blanche would be ideal.

Houx was interesting, was there in 2016. Here's what greeted me on my first visit to the squat bogs (which I initially thought were normal bogs until I got inside lol):

Thank you. It turns out there are now 3 of us, and the teenager is not allowed to go, so we will return to our normal isolated site

If you stay off circuit, have you thought about Airbnb option?

Our usual accommodation in a village has unfortunately changed. The family have sold the house and moved near St Saturnin but it’s in the middle of no where.

I found a couple of options in the same village. Booked a two bed apartment in the Centre overlooking the river. £130 for fri-mon.

Indeed- this year we can walk away if it isn't knowing we can get somewhere else without advance booking.

I was going to Airbnb - had one booked for Moto 24. However my mate fancies camping, and to be fair we love the site...even if its facilities are completely crap
