Hi all

I've just requested a e-voucher for my original June Eurostar ticket which is valid for 12 months for future bookings (booking date not travel date) and a cash refund of my Ouigo TGV ticket from Paris to Le Mans.

Eurostar are exchanging tickets up to 1st July for e-vouchers.

Webforms seemed easy enough to fill in, will wait to see if vouchers and money come through ok.

Thought I'd mention it incase anyone else was in a similar position.

Cheers smile

Just thinking aloud, you should be entitled to a cash refund, as you're not allowed into France as its not essential travel. You may have another use for an eVoucher, and its being kind to Eurostar as its easier to do, but it will expire and you could lose your money.

This sort of think keeps coming up on the TV

I disagree.

Just because a person is not allowed into France or FCO advice is not to travel does not mean the person is entitled to a refund. The fact that the person cannot enter a country or is advised not to travel is not the point. However, if Eurostar etc cancel the person is entitled to a refund.as they have not fulfilled their contract terms.

It not contract terms, its EU legislation, that still applies, just. Despite what they may be saying. It isn't their fault

Ouigo just emailed me a refund voucher to use by November which was going to be useless for me but there is an option of signing into your booking, clicking on vouchers, then there's a button to refund the money back to your credit card. Guess I'll lose a bit with the credit card euro exchange fee though frown but better than nothing.

Waiting to hear back from Eurostar on the e-voucher and its terms and if it's unused whether it will have any cash value or just be a total loss. Hadn't planned on using Eurostar in the next year or so. Was only going by train this June as I had something on the Tuesday so was going to catch up the rest of my lot who were leaving by car on the Monday.

I'll update once I hear back from Eurostar.

Cheers smile

If you paid by credit or debit card, you can always ask the card company for a chargeback, if you're not offered cash.
