No surprise really but it’s been postponed until next year now. frown

Still, something to look forward too...

Beat me to it!

We feel that it is the right decision to move the event to July 2021.

We will be informing all our customers later today via email about the LMC postponement and what will happen with their existing bookings. So please bear with us.

It does indeed make sense though nonetheless that's tough given all the work you and your team & all the other operators have put into planning the event.

The Silverstone Classic is a month later, and yet to be postponed, probably because its a fortnight after the GP, which must be the next one to go. We might as well accept that this year is cancelled.

Might have to do the LM Classic 21 instead. Shame its so close to the 24Hrs

I’m rather happy it has been moved as it means I can go smile

Hopefully it doesn’t affect anyone too much.

It affects the businesses here at Le Mans a great deal, I can tell you. This town has a vast industry based on the events at the circuit, and so many count on it. Hotels, B&Bs, restaurants, bars, caterers, temporary staff (1,000) employed by the ACO, supermarkets - one can go on and on. So the 24 Hour bike race is pushed back to September, as is the 24 Hour race, the Moto GP cancelled, the Superbikes cancelled, the 24 Hour kart race cancelled and even perhaps the 24 Hours Trucks - it goes on and on. And it isn't just those, because living where I do I hear the noise of the circuit virtually every day if the wind is in the right direction. And those that are on will see far less spectators. I mean, do you fancy camping when the night temperature will be in single figures and the maximum around 18C; and 12 hours of night instead of 7? It is an inconvenience for the spectators, but a catastrophe for the locals.

It goes further. For example, I worry about the ticket agencies. In fact, so many businesses are going to take a hammering this year, I wonder what will be left next year, and racing budgets and holiday budgets will be well squeezed

Sadly until there is a vaccine it’s likely any event anywhere will be delayed.

We can see how Wuhan goes now lockdown is off after 11/12weeks. If that goes well brilliant things change / if it doesn’t oh st we’re looking for vaccine time.

Lots of business will fold lots of people will lose everything £ wise. But they may we’ll still be alive.

Sports of all kinds will be what brings back people hope fun joy etc so it will be coming.
I did one have not cancelled my sky sports orskyF1 subscription as I want to support those sports if everyone did the same it might make a difference to the industry (I’m more doing it due to the fact the F1 teams are making ventilators for the NHS gratis so it’s a very small price to pay + you get to watch classic sports of all kinds now. Newcastle v Liverpool 1996 classic game.

Going to keep the booking and go with these new dates. I’m sure I read the Hyper car class in Le Mans had been delayed by a year so should feature in 2022. Is this confirmed?

As Classic is delayed to next year I may not go to LM the same year so may go for 2022.

At the very least China should pick up the entire bill for producing a vaccine, and give it to the WHO for free global distribution.

This is not the first time China has exported a deadly virus, and it won't be the last either.

Got tickets booked through 1st Tickets aswell, may potentially swap to the standard Le Mans instead though as we were planning to go to that for the hyperclass next year.

Gutted it's cancelled though, been to it before and is a great weekend.

Can I just say thanks to 1st Tickets , I had a Classic Package booked and their communication was transparent and pragmatic throughout and have received my deposit back and vouchers in the post.

Great service in difficult times and will continue to be my first port of call for these kinds of trips in the future.

Well done on how you managed this.
