How do people get into Le Mans on the Friday night? Taking the car would not seem to be sensible due to traffic / parking / drinking. Just wondered what the other options were? And before anyone says it (Roy), I *know* how we're getting there, I'm asking for a friend.

The Jimmer Le Mans crew have a non-drinker in the team. The six others float £35 each to cover a rental Espace for the weekend, voila instant troop carrier, super soaker battle wagon, and as a bonus the sports cars stay secure on the campsite, which might not be the case if they were parked in a dodgy back street of Le Mans.
Most firms have an office in Le Mans, we booked via Hertz in the UK.

There is a bus service outside the main gate that starts at about 4pm.
They run back and forth into the cathederal square until 10ish
Dont take the times mentioned as gospel - hopefully
radio Le Mans will confirm the times.

As long as you have a non drinker with you, we have never had a problem driving in and out for the parade

We got the bus from opposite the main gate last year. I have no idea how we got back.

There is also the normal public bus service into town from the cemetery, about half a mile up the hill from the main gate.

Then a taxi back, either from the rank in the Place de la Rep. or from station.

Perhaps we can put some seats in "The Van" & get chauffeured around the circuit at night...
