Well, spent 6 hours shopping on Saturday and got fully kitted out for Le Mans. I managed to get

Tent
Sleeping bag x 2
Sleeping bag roll
Poncho
Fold up chair
Back pack
Binoculars
Pocket radio

All for 135 EUR. Quite a bargain I thought. At that price I can leave it all at the circuit and not worry about if it falls apart by the end of the weekend. Everything bar the binoculars and radio was by a company call Boomerang. They seem to have the cheap outdoor equipment market cornered.

I-m actually getting quite excited about going now. More money to spend on beer too :D

Asda sold me a sleeping bag for £6 at the weekend, which was a bonus as I read it as £23.00 on the shelf! Airbed for a £10'er and 3 x pairs ear plugs from Superdrug for about £2.

Working for a civil engineering contractor has its benefits-

Free earplugs and defenders
Free water proofs (Its going to be a wet race, I feel it in my bones!)
Free fur lined rigger boots (the Perfect camping boot, even camp fire proof!)
Free hard hat for protection from drunken friends.

Everything i need except the beer!

I bought my first ever tent on Thursday.

€100 for an 8-man mother of a thing!
Took 3 hours to put it up, incredibly confusing, and of course, it wouldn't go back into it's "handy" carry bag from whence it came.

What is it with that?

Still off the wall with excitement.

After 15 years or more of messing about in the mountains I still haven't figured that one out.

Ignore the weather "experts". Still reckon its gonna rain!

It's not going to rain... please NOOOOOOOOO !!!!

top up driving Calias-Le Mans, plus wet weather camping will drive me mad ...

But GT cars in the wet might just make up for it

Remember 2001, it couldn't be that wet again....could it?

The vettes early Sunday morning on the start / finish straight at the previous night in the wet going under the Dunlop bridge.....what a great sound.
