I'm hoping for 3.5 hours.... We arrive in France at 10pm though. The lure of luke warm Kronenbourg will ensure a good pace....

If you take the main roads you can do it very quickly, but part of the fun of the drive is to get on the back roads, where the driving is more testing and ultimately more satisfying. I find that any fool can drive fast in a straight line on motorways, the real skill is "off-piste". Take the back roads, allow a couple of hours extra and you'll have the drive of your life.
The French D roads are billiard table smooth, have good visibility and have variety from bendy hills to 10 mile straights (just so you can experience v-max!). You'll find the Gendarmes take easy-pickings on the main routes, leaving the smaller roads alone.
Get yourself a map, and have the balls to explore (can send you a Calais/LM route from last year) - it really does add to the weekend.
If you need the sprint, do so on the return leg.

but seriously folks, 'depends where you start from.
from calais, about 6 hours at a sedate pace, though i'm sure you can do it a little quicker depending on your choice of charger?
