How long is a stint?

Im just watching the LM DVD from last year and they keep talking about stints, how long is the average stint?

As little as 40 mins during the daylight and up to 2 hours during the night. AFAIK there is no minimum time period although there may be a maximum for safety reasons. I don’t think anyone does 4 hour stints anymore. The cars have to pit about every 40 mins to 1 hour for fuel and tyres so it’s basically a tactical team decision whether to change the driver at that time as well. They cannot change drivers whilst the car is being fuelled so there is a time penalty for a driver change.
