any ideas about ground clearance matters? i have about 3.5 inches clearance at the front of my car and it grounds everywhere. do ferry operators at le mans time of year have any planks of wood etc to help get people on the boats?

Not had this problem myself, but at this time of year the ferries are chocabloc with cars with low clearance. So yes they are prepared for it.

I didn't have problems on Le Shuttle is my S3 two years back and that grounded everywhere, althougb they specifically directed all of the performance cars to the bottom decks.

Last year on SeaCat, in my Cupra-R (front so low the splitter is always available at a dealer) and a Cerbera we were OK too.

After watching the SpeedFerries documentary where a Ferrari appears to catch its nose badly, Lake called them and they say they are now prepared and carry extra supplies to help everyone on and off without damage.

Been on a P&O and a speedferries over the last month, both really good, they guide you in and use planks etc

Watched someone unintentially crack their ally sump on their kit car last year getting of the Transmanche ferry - Newhaven to Dieppe.
Fortunately managed to get it repaired, he was the first of 10 kits to come off so the others to avoiding action.

Trail of oil was still their 6 months later.

Always go to Le Mans on Eurotunnel and have to be very careful of front splitter on my vette.

The biggest problem is getting over the ridiculous humps and bumps thro to Customs / Passport control and then into the staging areas. If you can get over these, getting on/off the train is simple provided you do it slowly.

Did it a bit too fast one year in my old vette and promptly removed the complete exhaust system
