Well, its only a matter of weeks now, so I thought I'd be the first to start the annual "will it rain" rumour.

This bloke down the pub reckons its going to rain this year, you see and....

Thank God we had a large tent that year!

I remember some pretty bad floods in 1998. Houx annexe was like a swamp. I was in Houx that year.

I was camping at Indy/Arnage in '98, not too much flooding, but some HUGE hailstones - felt sorry for all those driving anything exotic!

Anyone prefer the heatwave of 2000?

I was in Houx Annexe in '98 as well. We were in a low corner by the lake and on the Friday evening when the big weather arrived, we picked up our 3-man tent and moved it onto a higher bank just as it started to fill up with water! My brother managed to move his 205 GTi as the floods started lapping around the door sills...

Yeah, that was fun...

And our first visit was '95...which was a tad damp too!

My first year going .

Two things are guaranteed.....
1) It always rains at some point on my car weekends away. And..
2) I get horribly lost on the way there.

Number 2 is not that big a problem but 1 and 2 usually come together ! I'm betting on rain showers.

I'm a Le Mans inhabitant and I can tell you that the weather is changing every day...We can't make any pronostics if it will be rainy or sunny... I hope it'll be as last year.

See you at the pesage PHers

Bohemian, seeing as you live in LM, I hope you will be giving us regular updates on the weather from a couple of weeks before the race ??

I think we worked out before that there was a consistent weather pattern over many years.

It goes..sunny, sunny, shite, sunny, sunny, shite , etc, etc!!!

1999 and 2000 - excellent weather. 2001 was indeed a spectacularly shite year, at least weather wise. 2002 and 2003, good weather.

Now, I missed last year but hopefully it rained?? If so, guaranteed excellent weather 2005!!

4 years at Uni to get a geography degree allows me to see these kinds of complex weather patterns when many others would miss them you see.

Nope! We cooked in the sun from Wednesday through to Monday.

So that buggers up your theory then, doesn't it!

1998 - The year of the floods in Houx Annexe, classic year remember it well.

I do remember one guy sat in a dome tent with water flooding up the front and over the top!!!! Bloody funny year, rained for about 30 minutes which was enough to flood the place!

Anyone remember 1995 - JJ Lehto in the McLaren F1 lapping about 28 seconds faster than anyone else at night in the rain... A very wet year although it dried towards the end of the year and Mario Andretti nearly caught the McLaren by the end of the race, especially good as previously during the race Mario had is helmet stollen and returned in time for the last stint!!!!!

JJ Lehto, Le Mans legend!

Got the book, the video, even the 1/43rd scale model McLaren which is worth a small fortune now...
