Having not driven on the continent since about 1990, I was wondering what the law is regarding GB plates. Are they a requirement?

Easiest thing to do is get yourself a new number plate, then no sticky GB stickers on the paintwork!

Funnily enough am due to get a new rear plate but hadn't decided which looked best. Was just gonna go for a like for like plain one with TVR logo as not sure about the Euro flag jobbies.
I presume stickers on the body work is a no no unless I want to ruin the paint?

Not sure actually - I didn't have any last year, got stopped and fined too, but only for the traffic offence, not for having no GB stickers

It is the law, but you'd be unlucky to be nicked for it.

(Mind you, I believe it's against the law not to practice archery on a Sunday in England. If you get nicked for that you know somebody's got it in for you!)

You can get magnetic ones similar to L plates, they don't cost too much and won't do anything to the paintwork!

Weve never had any when weve gone, not had a problem. Wouldnt you think a 'British' car with Brit plates and 4 lobsters in it would be a big enough clue...

Depends how picky you are about your paintwork!
