Hi All,

LM Newbie here. My wife and I are booked with 1st tickets to come to Le Mans later this week (for the first time), and due to some complications I won't get into now, we've had to toy with the idea of either arriving at the circuit late afternoon on Thursday (as planned), or arriving early-ish (around 10am) on Friday morning.

I've read through the guide sent out by 1st tickets so I have a rough idea of what's going on during the 2 days.

Should I make the effort to get there for the Thursday afternoon, or just come along for Friday morning? i.e, coming from a newbie perspective, am I going to miss out on stuff by coming Friday instead of Thursday!?

Cheers,
Phil.

Speaking as someone who is currently here...I would recommend you come as quickly as possible and get as much time here as possible smile

AFAIK there is no racing on Friday - pit walkabout, followed by carnival late afternoon in Le Mans centre. Work commitments means I may just make the carnival. 1st timers I would certainly do both.

Ive been since 94, and without fail the earlier you can get here to experience Le Mans, the better. There's so much to do, so many different places to visit.. the drivers parade Friday, or chartres sur la Loire.. mad Friday outside bleu, or arnage or Mulsanne. Everyone I'm sure will have their favourite places to visit, and after 22yrs I'm still finding them.. so good luck and enjoy yourself..

Try to get there as early as possible. There's so much to see, and do, on Friday you want to make as much use of the day as you can.

If you arrive Thursday then you'll catch some of the quali, the tribunes are accessible to all Wed/Thur.

Deffo thurs. You need to catch end of quali, and the first sounds of LM from within the grandstands will stay with you for life.

Also, on Friday you need to be exploring the town, or fan area - not messing about with tents. You do NOT want to be driving about after 12 on Friday, it's just harassment you don't need, so thurs lets you get up, do shopping run, then back to either tram or ACO fan area as you see fit.

And if you're driving down then the quality metal on the roads on Thursday makes it special.

Thursday should be mandatory. Night quali is definitely worth the effort!

Thursday

End Of Thread!

(in reality arriving Thursday means a better camping spot, qualifying, and you avoid any foolishness on the road courtesy of Mad Friday)
