Speed Camera on the Mulsanne?
Discussion
Spoke to a member of the Jaguar Enthusiast Club who was in France last week. In 3000 miles of French motoring he saw 11 speed cameras including 6 around Calais and one on the Mulsanne straight. He reckons the Brits are being tagetted big time.....
He says the one on the Mulsanne straight is mounted unexpectedly low and faces both directions.
I'll chuck in this French Motoring law link for good measure..... Still don't know if French points are to be carried onto UK licences this year.

Edited because I missed a zero off the French milage

I thought I had better post this info as last year we creamed it down the Mulsanne. It was before 7am, empty roads and no police - lurvely!!!!
Camera aint gonna care though
We're not going this year; we're doing Thruxton GTs and GFOS instead.
Must admit that I'm looking forward to GFOS

I stayed in the hotel on Mulsanne late last year and didn’t see it; mind you I have no doubt the French will be bringing out the big guns this year to add to the old coffers for the staff Christmas party in December.
On a technical point even if they do get you on a camera what is to say they can implement this back here in Albion?
Do they really think this thing will last an entire weekend with thousands of like minded Brits (and other good eggs) camping in the near vicinity? I think not!

Must remember to pack a can of spray paint.
Surely a pair of Holland’s would be more fun?
And of course if you stop at the large service station north of Rouen at (Aire de la baie de somme?) your ready for some proper sport at their wildfowl sanctuary. A few pairs of duck would go nicely on the old BBQ
I'd tread somewhat carefully on the Straight, as well as Indianapolis. Last year I saw them setting up a laser speed gun Friday morning, and when I cruised by a little later they had several "customers". No way to see them until it's way too late.

I am trying to get more info on speed traps on the route to Le Mans from any port.
Preferably before June, my web master friend will be putting them onto a map, in a format to download to a PDA or simular thingy ( i'm not computer literate )
If you can e=mail them to us via the address on my website. ( i dont advertise on it, or gain profit, so i guess its ok to put the link in )
