Le Mans 2003 dates have now been confirmed by the ACO, the race will be held on the weekend of 14-15th June 2003 with Pre-Qualifying a month earlier on 4th May 2003.

The ACO have also said that all the (ACO) campsites are sold out, so for those who have not booked will have to source tham through one of the many "middle men"

Although being female, I have attended Le Mans for the past 5 years, and never had any problems getting tickets? Does the ticket shortage include campsites such as Houx annex and Houx? If so, we had beeter get on the case now, as normally book around November time.

You've never had any problem because I always sort it out
I presume the TVRCC has an allocation to members which will be printed in sprint when they start selling packages.

Right..I sent off a faxed booking about 2 weeks after this year's Le Mans and have received a letter from the ACO acknowledging the request. Does this actually mean anything or are we going to get shafted as we did last year by bulk selling by the ACO to 'Ticket Agencies' who then ration release of tickets in the weeks immediately before Le Mans to push the prices up to 2 or 3 times face value??

Means diddly...

I got the same acknowledgement last September when I booked. Then got told in April that they were unable to fulfil my booking.

Nice.

Does anyone know how I can join the ACO???

I have heard that its worth the money: cheap entry, good facilities in the vilage with (wisper it) good toilets and free breakdown cover in France. The website (www.lemans.org) does'nt say how I cna join, though...

I can't find anything about joining the ACO there either, but Club Arnage offers a joining facility. Have a click on
www.cix.co.uk/~davies/club24.htm
and see what happens

All I did was send them a fax with my name and credit card details and asked to join. The ACO, in their usual efficient and hospitable manner sent me a membership card about three months later.

Book NOW if yer going!

Strangely, just had a mail from www.lemans.org (must have subscribed to something as some point in the past?!?!?!) with info on how to join the ACO. I don't know how much this costs, but it appears you can complete the application form with no obligation....I may send off anyway just to see how much it costs...
The link I received is.... www.euromedianet.fr/form_mailing_aco/club/club24_gb.htm

Cheers,

Neil

From the link you posted:

"Would you like to become a privileged member of the race ?

With the CLUB 24 formula, at € 86 a year, become a member of the Club that created and organises the (Le Mans 24 Heures) and benefit from superb benefits "

So I would guess it costs 86 Euro per year, approx 58 of your best GB Pounds

Doh!! That'll teach me to read the whole page first won't it!

So, you can buy up to 6 entry tickets with a saving €84, and annual membership is €86. You can buy tickets for the ACO grandstand, and get free admission to the ACO Members Enclosure (probably only for you and not the 5 mates you got tickets for?!)...anyone know what that's like?

Just received note that we are on the waiting list for Karting Nord. Called the ACO to check and was informed that all 2003 camping places were, in fact, sold out before June 2002. I sent booking form last week in June and we are now 52nd on the Karting Nord waiting list, ie no f**king chance.

Of course, the rules have now been changed. The new 'ACO Directeur' has now decreed that only people who actually attend future 2003 events can book 2004 tickets this far in advance.

Got ripped off on tickets last year. May now go to Spa or IOM TT instead

Isn't it great to see that this thread started 2 months after last years event and here we are in March 2003 and people are ONLY just waking up to the fact that there was a ticketing crisis 8 months ago. Where have you been ?

ACO can also be contacted on the english speaking line for those not brave enough (!) on 00 33 243 61 08 24
p.s Can't help on accomodation tho, may be sleeping in the Tuscan at this rate!!!!!!!
