Whats all this about then?

the e-mail to me from speedferries said:
Dear Customer,

This Tuesday, the 18th January, at 9:50 pm, BBC TWO is broadcasting a 40
minutes documentary on SpeedFerries.

The show is part of the ""Trouble at the Top" series, as you can read
in the BBC TWO listings.

As the BBC has been filming many times throughout 2004 on the
Dover-Boulogne service, and during this time hundreds of customers have
asked SpeedFerries to be informed when the program would be on the air.
Accordingly, we are now forwarding this information.

I thank you for helping us to establish this brand new low cost ferry
concept by travelling with us.

Best regards
SpeedFerries Limited

Whats going on?

I got one of those too, they are just promoting their brand as they have a TV show on soon, if you have been on a Speed Ferries voyage in 2004, you may even get on TV!!

Consider it a chance to check the clearance on their ramps, space when parked and most importantly how good breakfast will be

The program is more about the troubles establishing new, or

IIRC Caterham did one a few years back about their failed attempt to build a new car.

Sorry Tripps, only food IIRC was croissants and coffee and perhaps some other pastry type stuffs.
clearance up the ramps looked OK but headroom drops down to about 6' up near the top, should be good for lots of start-up type noises

Will also be some reversing and manouvering from the upper sections to get the cars back out.

Yes indeed. It's very entertaining trying to get a car off a Speed Ferries boat! Takes a lot of marshalls to decide who goes where and stop people crashing into each other!

sainsbury's was on it last week, but i was expecting a program about their troubles with competing with tesco/asda but instead it showed a succesful clothing launch

despite the name "trouble at the top", i'm sure it'll be nothing but good publicity...

top gear has used speed ferries twice with no clearance issues and both times clarkson has got his "bacon and eggs"

Evo have used them too for a group test, so on the face of it they should be OK.

Problem is, when you have a few low/wide cars its OK they place you specially, but the 7:45 crossing has a lot of PH cars on there and we may not all be able to go on the lower floor in prime locations...

Last year Lake's Cerbera and an Aston got special places and could open doors and get out without issue, where-as myself in the Cupra-R was squashed between supports (both going and coming back) and both myself and passenger struggled to get out without damaging the paintwork.

I'll suggest to those with convertibles to leave their roofs off!

Going 24 hours (how apt!) earlier than you on the Wednesday, no Griff in tow this year though.

Seen the Team LNT livery?

I saw that one of panicked, just hope they've got a longer exit ramp now, as otherwise those of us with a longer wheelbase could have problems

Methinks your Griff will be alright, it has a pert nose and bottom, but the Chimaeras, Cerbs and V8Ss might have problems...

I think the 'rari just needed to come off the ramp at an angle. None the less I'll be winding up the Nitrons a bit before departure

Steve.
