Chaps

Greets to all the folks in last year's Driver's Parade.

I fancy a change from the Eurotunnel route so was thinking of taking the Zeebrugge route but have zilcho experience of it (I am travelling from Cheshire). Our 'convoy' <cough> is a Marcos Mantis & LM500. Has anyone here done this route & if so what's the deal? I think we are overnighting on the ferry but apart from that is it practical to go Zeebrugge to Le Mans in one blast? Ditto the trip back (leaving Monday morning)?

Hints/Tips? Anything to look out for/avoid? Any comments appreciated.

Cheers

Living in Scotland I have done the trip from Zeebrugge to Lemans the past two years going to Le Mans. (Rosyth - Zeebrugge ferry)

Dead easy relaxing drive down, either take the toll autoroutes or the more scenic D and N class routes.

Easiest way is to by pass Paris and the horrible ring road round it.

You can either cut sraight across country, plenty of routes to take, or take the coastal route via Calais and Le Havre, taking the A16

From Zeebrugge its the N31, N371, A10 on to A18, onto the A16 (past Calais) follow onto the A28 round Rouen on the N14 and A13 onto the N138 (E402) round Alecon on the A28 ring road onto the N138 all the way to Le Mans.

Quite quick route, around 3 and a half to 4 hours depnding on your speed and number of stops.

Hope this helps

3 Westfields and 1 Jeep and trailer leaving on the 7pm crossing on Tuesday 14th and coming back on the Monday night ferry.
1st time we have done this route but other Westy driver did it last year and did not have a problem. Took them about 7 hours but they did do the scenic route and remember a Westy only has on average a 120 mile range and there was 15 in the convoy!

It's about 340 miles and the route has already been planned, if you want a copy let us know..........
