2005 this will be my 5th consecutive Le mans trip
and I feel like I am missing out on something, arriving on Thursday PM set up camp and then consume copious amounts of beer untill time to come home on Monday, this itinery has never caused me any pain ( headaches accepted) however this year I would like to drive around a bit and met some like minded people, I hear stories of TVR meetings, cruising and the like and i am asking you guys what are the best areas to venture out too.

On the Friday get yourself to any or all of: The Mulsanne Straight, the track between Indianapolis and Arnage corner, Arnage Village, the roundabout near Houx Annexe, the road alongside camping bleu, the main square in Chartre-sur-la-loir or the Place de la Republique in the centre of Le Mans. I believe there are some racing cars on display in the pit lane too.

You will find like minded enthusiasts at each of the above locations.

There's also the museum too, been meaning to

Since we have some posh folks in our group next year (well a celebrity looks-a-like, James Whale you know who you are!!!) we might take in the champagne tents too

Quite fancy blasting down south for Friday lunch though after the PH meet, the problem is ensuring those who've not been before get the full Le Mans experience...

One of the best things about Le Mans is that you can never do it all in any one year, so you always want to go back the following year.

About 10a.m. until 12 on the Friday morning there is a gathering of all of the best cars on the grass besides the Indi-Arnage bit of the track. 6 p.m. at the Place du Jacobins in the centre of the town (center ville) there is the drivers parade.

Thursday night the ACO bar next to the pit exit inside the circuit is open for (lots) of beers.

Just a few suggestions......
