Useful local resources if you have problems at Le Mans
Discussion
All,
Just for some general info which hopefully helps someone else in future years. I was unfortunate to get a puncture on the way into TL campsite on Wednesday afternoon.
Quick google pulled these chaps up: https://plus.google.com/115107082009167995997/abou...
Tyre was a 255/35R19 so I expected to get rodded for a replacement.
After whipping it off, puncture was in the sidewall, mechanic smiled, walked off and came back with a part worn (same size, brand, load etc!)
The charge... 60 euro (plus some beer money for them)Well recommended!
Cheers
Pete

As a local, for mundane tyres the most recommended is 100% Pneus half way down the Mulsanne. Without doubt cheaper than I used to buy at Micheldever, Hants, (£275 the four Michelins fitted and balanced for the Class C Mercedes). They do all tyres by the way but for bigger boots Hyper Pneus as mentioned is recommended and also the other side of town the most recommended specialist for high performance tyres is Super Pneus just off the ring road from the circuit to Paris on the turn off for Parigné l'Eveque. I mention them because they quite often have the actual tyre in stock. Make a note.
Should we change the title of this sticky thread to 'Useful local resources if you have problems at Le Mans' ?
My contribution to this would be to recommend Nicholas at Studio Le Mans who was extremely helpful and replaced my smashed iPhone facias front and back (and popped a new battery in while he was at it) all in about 10 minutes for a very reasonable cost. I was there and back from Arnage inside an hour!

I have a friend who lives in Toulouse and prior to leaving this year asked if he had any recommendations for tyres should the worst happen. He suggested these people, should any of you get stuck, and I believe the one below is fairly local to the circuit although they have branches all over the country which may be useful for the journey down:

Most people know where the big Carrefour is, and Midas are opposite. But next to Carrefour is Norauto, a tyre and servicing place and also like a mini-Halfords with many things available in their shop. However, their tyre prices don't match (or didn't last time I looked) the pplace on the Mulsanne.

Great for puncture repairs.Unfortunately I rolled over a tent peg on the way out last year. Also good for exhaust and battery problems. Friendly and quick service, and a coffee whilst waiting too!If you're a butterfingered klutz like me and manage to drop and smash your phone, these guys were able to repair it within the hour while I was at the drivers parade, just 2 mins walk from the Republique tram stop near SFR/Monoprix:

I arrived at the Officials sign on about 5 years ago, signed on and returned to the car.
Nothing.
Battery flat and f***ed
The little garage/petrol station at the start of the main drag in Arnage had one straight away.
For a 993 turbo!!! - Muchly impressed and no charge for fitting (Suitable Beer Euros were passed over to the fitter)
