How quick to get there?
Discussion
My advice would be to take the N1/N28 to Rouen then negotiate Rouen and pick up the N138 all the way to Le Mans. The section to Rouen is very fast (i.e as fast as your car can go) and Rouen should come up in a couple of hours. The second section is much slower but great roads, stunning scenery, very authentic Le Mans landscape over the last 50 miles and lots and lots of English petrolheads driving fast sports cars quickly. It is the only way to go, yes you can go via Paris but it's all M'Ways and very dull. For reference last year on the way down we came across the following English registerd cars on route:
TVR- Tuscan, Griff, Chimp, Cerbie
Ultima GTR
Lotus Elise, Elan
Caterham 7's
Nissan Skyline
Honda NSX
Westfields
Aston DB5/6 Vantage
Bentley 4 1/2 supercahrge (i.e original Bentley Boys stuff)
and so on and so forth
If you drive non stop and press on you could do it in five hours, we always stop at Rouen for a leisurly lunch though.
