Hi all, I was looking at going to Le Mans in the next year or 2. and would like to get info about prices, camping and hotels etc...

could anyone give me web address or details of companys that can give me brochures.
their may be a few of us South west Tiger owners going so it would be nice to look over with them and decide what we are going to do.

Regards

The face value prices for the tickets are listed in the '2005 Prices' thread in this forum, along with details of which tickets to buy. These can be bought from the organisers

Tickets companies include: Page&Moy, JustTickets, AirTrack, MRI. The thread 'Who to book with' also lists a couple of other companies like Team Langoustine and Bonne Route.

Check out somewhere like Beer Mountain for a light-hearted look at the events...

Mmmmm.... Tigers, will have to wander over and find where you're all camped. I'm a mile away from the London workshop and after a test drive am oh so tempted...

You're going to travel down in a Tiger and stay in a hotel rather than camp, that just won't do

More than likly we will go in 2006. but most of us will go in the Tiger, and more than likly camp somewhere. I mentioned hotels as a few of us will have passengers and Tigers don't have much room to put camping stuff. we have a small rear parcel shelf and thats it.

I know you're limited on space just a tad! I've done it in an S3 TVR which was quite limited, but not as much as you guys'll be!

I think the Caterham crew use a backup van or two, something a number of TVR regions do, whether its a Estate support car or the whole hog support truck.

Other people take down the basics (beer, food and sleeping bag and more beer), buy a cheap tent from Carrefour (mine would have lasted a third year if I hadn't fallen on it!) and chuck it after the weekend.

Unless you have lots of solo drivers prepared to utilise their passenger space that is!

Our group once did 5 people with a tent each and luggage in 2 Caterhams and a Ginetta G27. Packing light is the key. Buy a BBQ etc when you get there

You could ask to join one of the various PH groups from your area too, they're bound to have some semi-practical cars you could rent bootspace from in exchange for beer!

Underused alternative to camping is self-catering accomodation - gite or chambre d'hote.

Hotels are legit tax-paying bodies, become visible and therefore get booked up pronto.

Not so with gites etc. where a large number are 'a noir' preferring cash but not being able to get the visibility. Got some details of places we've used and numbers of people in the area who have asked us to help let their places.

In Veni Vidi Vibi days a gite just south of the circuit was our 'home from home', now of source its our farmhouse inside the circuit.
