LeMans 2005 from Worcestershire
Discussion
Hi we are travelling down from Evesham - booked on the Wed night boat (23:45 from Pompey) to Cherburg aiming to be at the campsite by 10:30ish......Coming back on Monday. Not sure what date yet as the Frogs have not made up their minds when they will be holding the event next year! You are more than welcome to tag along - been doing it since 1991 so we know the way by now........
Hi guys thanks for the response, be travelling from Bewdley probably on the Monday ferry Pompey to St Malo as may be staying with a friend near Vannes for a night or two then driving to LeMans on the Wednesday however if plans change may be keen to tag on to your Wednesday run if poss.
We are booked into Maison Blanche near Porsche Curves which site will you be in?

We are booked into Expo, a bit noisy, toilets are OKish, and its not too far from the esses (where the old fun fair used to be). What has happened to the Wall of Death & Strippers - are they trying to make LM more up market.....
I live in Harvington (4 miles north of Evesham) - the Coach & Horses is the local watering hole if you want to meet up.

The trip this year is £185 all in apart from beer, food n fuel......(camping , tickets, ferry etc )
How much is the overnight ferry crossing then?
Our spend is the same for Dover-Calais based on two per car. Mind you we did have grandstand tickets...
Cost is £185 each for 6 people in two cars. Ferry works out at £96 ea. (Pompey - Cherburg - 2 cars, one of which is a people carrier with roof box) cabins on the out ward trip. Camping about £17 each, race tickets £50 ea. and we take the excursion out to Arnage/Mullsanne - bit pricey @ £22 ea. but with a few beers on board it is a better option than the car. I get the camping / race tickets via "Just Tickets" and trawl the net for the best ferry prices.

Bear in mind , if you're thinking of travelling from Portsmouth, that this might affect you....

Thanks - I have spoken to P & O & they will honour all bookings........not sure how they will do this!
Gandalf, Hi
Spotted you pulling out of sainsburies in Kidder on SUnday..
I didnt wave as you might have thought it a tad odd to see a chap with a pushchair waving at you
although i did have a tasmin challenge t-shirt on..
Very nice noise as you went up the hill.
I'll be at LM next year ( 10th on the trot) unless i get a drive at the Nring 24h..
not sure how or when we're going last year we euro stared it down and flew back...

Hi Graham, hows the racing going?
Sorry to have missed seeing you on Sunday, you must get a Manugistics sticker for the buggy!-just popped in for some extra tonics (for the gin) but glad you enjoyed the aural delight of the wedge!
The 40 signs are a required minimum speed are`nt they?

Is the excursion to Arnage and Mulsanne from Just Tickets too? Rather like the sound of that
I've still got the blisters from our walk from Houx to Arnage this year as I was the only one of our group not wearing camp shoes! Next year we plan to visit Mulsanne, but I'd prefer an easier life

Were actually running 4 in the people carrier + gear & 2 in my car, but we split all costs equally between the 6 of us.
The excursion is through Just Tickets (01304 228866)- lasts about 3 hours giving about an hour at each of the corners plus 1 hour phaffing about with the traffic - places are limited so best bet is to get in quick. I may even do a helicopter trip next year - about £70 for two laps if you book at the circuit - pre booking is about £110........
I am concerned with the ferry crossing though as it looks as though the Pompy Cherburg route is getting the axe - although P & O assured me yesterday that they would honour all bookings.....

Grab a cheapy hotel the night before, have a few beers then enjoy the longer journey the next day
