Hi chaps.

Did anyone get any decent piccies of me and my yellow Tamora on the drivers Parade at Le Mans? Obviously being in the car stopped me from getting any piccies. I would greatly appreciate anything anyone got.

Cheers folks, here's to next year...

could it get any better? what a weekend!!!

Cheers

Andy

(Sorry, we got bored waiting an hour for about 10 Cadilacs (well spaced) and went into Maccy-D's. When we came out you guys had been through. Still, got the MG girls though http://web.ukonline.co.uk/pikeynet/02/06/13/lemans124.jpg )

Pikey - nice pics; but you really did miss some fantastic hooliganism from the TVRs.

The new Tuscan R was being driven by the Evo editor and was laying serious rubber; the rest of us weren't doing too badly either. I was carrying a big Union Jack on an 18ft pole tied to my roll bar - apparently I caught the top of the podium and the whole thing looked like it was going to fall over. One TVR even burnt rubber on the podium carpet

Lots of very unhappy/nervous marshals but wildly appreciative crowds. Either TVR will get invited back real soon; or hell will have to freeze over first.

As for the girls - the tasty majorettes with the feather plumes on their heads; they were perching their gorgeous sequined butts on the open car windows so they ride past their troupe. I was gutted; when I got there the majorettes drew back to the railings and goaded me into laying more rubber. The SEAC bad boy reputation is sometimes a real pain in the arse.

As a (drunken) spectator, I can vouch for the fact that, once under way, the TVR bit of the parade was excellent.

At one point the view up the street leading back to the assembly area was completely obscured by smoke from the burning rear tyres of the Tuscan R. With such poor crowd control it was amazing how drivers found the space to burn out.

Full marks too, to the green 450SE & red Griff who burned out twice outside the restaurant we were in, in the square with the (now foam filled) fountain.

A totally unhinged evening!

Around the parade were several platforms with comentators. One appeared not to be talking about the fantastic Tivs in front of him. A bit rude or what !

Didn't have it all his own way though. I waited till he paused for breath then gunned the throttle - big time. My side pipes were pointed straight at him and as a lot of people found out they are seriously LOUD. Totally caught him off guard and I'm sure he swore into an open microphone.

I only managed a few burns, mainly because the car was so hot...107% at one point!!! But I tried my best almost running into Rob Ingleby's 400SE at one point!!!

The Tuscan R did the biggest one I have ever seen- awesome....

This was the result of a biker doing a burnout (near the fountain).

Oi! So it was you with Le Fairy Liquid!

We were picking it out of our beer for hours. So was the Gendarme that took a 'kin lump of the stuff in his face. He looked so unamused he could have been Welsh!

Next year try getting hold of a big bag of Bicarb!

Hi, Did anyone taking photos of the Parade catch me in my red S3 K30 TVR? about 4 or 5 cars back from the Tuscan R and in front of Rob Ingleby.
Cheers,
John & Anne

What's the change of TVR being invited back next year

... slim I think - after they upstaged the drivers
parade !

Perhaps it will be re-named the TVR parade also
featuring LeMans drivers parade !

Flasher.
Good to meet you last year as I was in the cerby in front of you last year with Basher. he has now defected to the Ferrari camp but we will be back this year for sure.
I was wondering how we can get in the parade this year as would like to take the skyline and it does have good Le mans pedigree from when Nismo were racing back in 95 and 96 and then with the R390 GT1 in 98 and 99.
Can anybody help??

I got some great video footage. What i would realy love would be some photos or video footage of the TVR and Morgan Track day the morning of the race 2002 at about 7:30 am. Chimaera S3TAY
