I am just back from my summer hols with the wife. We went to the Loire Valley, quite near Chinon if anyone knows it, very nice it was too.

But the point of the post is:
On the way down, and the way back I managed to take in Le Mans and have a quick scoot round some of the track, off season, without the usual LM weekend hordes.

Seems very different away from race weekend, but it was nice blatting down the Mulsanne with much less traffic than i normally see in June. Also the drive down was much quicker and no gendarmes to be seen all the way which was nice.

Funny thing was, the wife didn't seem to get as excitied as I did? Cannot understand that one.

If the Mulsanne was lined with shoe and handbag shops, she would be an ACO member !

We went to the exact same place as you and it looks like we took the same route.

I asked my dad on the Mulsanne Straight to go as fast as he could and imagine he was in the race but he could only manage 70mph And we went round Arnage and the rest. It does look so much different with no one there too!

I drove down Mulsanne a week go on Sunday - travelling from Loire Valley to St Malo. Saw a Lotus Elise overtaking stuff down there - anyone here?
