Right lets get something sorted for 2005. I would like to join up with either Pistonheads or the Caterham guys for 2005. How does anyone else feel about trying to organise a proper decent Pistonheads gathering in 2005 with a decent facilities etc on one of the main campsites ?? Just an idea at the moment but if enough interest Im happy to have a go at sorting this out maybe with some help? for 2005 in return for a few beers. Cheers K

Not wanting to put a downer on this, but have you tried to get any tickets for campsites out of the ACO....? I think you would be better off planning for 2006.

Club arnage tried this for this year, back in early 2003. No Joy.
ACO said "Just apply for tickets like everyone else"
CA said" Yeah but we want 150 camping passes and 350 entry tickets"
ACO said "Just apply for tickets like everyone else"

So god only knows how the travel companies do it

hi,

first posting...

I've been to Le Mans 03 and 04, this year it was nearly empty compared to 03. Tickets supposedly went for big discounts. The campsite on the exhibition center was almost deserted.

Can't imagine that it is difficult to get something organized.

I have been for the last 11 years and getting group tickets now is very very difficult.

This year numbers were probably down due to the Le Mans Classic.

I've thought about this before and found that its easier just keeping LM the organised chaos it already is. Most PHers already have their set plans they follow year after year and everyone prefers do do it in differnent ways (Masion Blanche/Houx/Posh campsite/Hotel etc).

About 200+ PHers go to LM and probably the best thing for a group gathering is the Arnage/Indy corner meet on the Friday morning. It was a sucess in 2004 and hopefully it will be again in 2005.
When the time nears I'll start another sticky thread and request Tshirts (NOT YELLOW!!!) from Ted again.

I already organise 50 - 60 peoples LM trip each year.

Sounds like a cunning plan to me DustyC - we are just waiting for Brittany Ferries to put their 2005 crossings 'live' and we will be booking up to cross on the Wednesday night (Portsmouth - St Malo) and then wait for TVRCC to put the other stuff on line!

Hi,

We have a group of around 30 each year and we had a call from Just tickets about 6 weeks after we were back to say "If you want tickets for next year buy now".

So we bought. I can't believe how mad it is to get tickets. I tried the ACO one year and they let us down so never again.

If somebody was to put up a Pistonheads banner somewhere on the friday morning I'm sure it would attract a lot of fun ........ Not to mention rubber!

Just drive to Arnage/Indianapolis corners. Couldn't move for Piston Head t-shirts and logos on motors. Ph even got mentioned on Radio LM

race day tickets are readily avaoilable, wouldnt pnaic over those... it's grandstand & camping which are scarcier - at least, if you wish to go closer to the pits. We did Beasjour this year, can quite recomend it too - and close to Porshe and Indy corners if you fancy a midnight stroll..

DUSTY!

When will you be travelling over next year? I definitely want to go but I think one of the Yorks trips is going the weekend before, which is too early for me.
