Hey, I've never been before and was wondering how much it costs roughly for one person over the weekend driving/not driving?

From what I gather the more people you can get in a car the cheaper it is per head. Also depends on how you intend to camp. I stick to the private campsites as I like the added security and most importantly the on site beer tent!

We're staying at Team Langoustine with x2 tent pitches x2 vehicles and 6 people in all (so say three people per car/pitch) and we're paying £175 each plus ferry of about £35 per head then £200-£300 spending money.

We've paid, I think, £285 each (2 up) for ferry, general admission and camping Fri-Sun nights. Add 520 miles of fuel from Calais and back and €28.70 tolls each way if you stay on the Autoroute all the way, €7.70 if you get off at Rouen.

A camping pitch 50 quid upwards gets you space for you your tent and a car - different sites have different tarrifs. General entrance ticket 50 ish. Return ferry anything from 50 to 400. Food, beer and fuel - over to you!

We're doing 2 in a car - £174 each (Ferry/Camping/Race Ticket)

Then it's just fuel and booze really - Which of course will add up, but still!

You could probably spend as much as you like, but as a tight fecker I reckon to spend under £200, driving, on my own.

Last year I spent less than £600 including tickets, camping, travel, beer and not really watching what I spent. That includes a rather expensive round at the champagne tent too.

Team Anslow spend approx £300 on ferry, tickets, digs, stickers etc per person and then take approx £300 each for beer tokens

At the end of the day its bloody good value! If you're considering going; Go! You'll be wondering why you didn't do it years ago!

For comparison, the 2011 LM24 hour costs for my son and I totalled just under £1100 on a DIY basis. This covered

1. Eurotunnel
2. All tolls
3. Hotel (2 single rooms)
4. 1 Parking Blanc ticket
5. 2 GE tickets
6. 2 La Sarthe tribune tickets
7. All food
8. All drinks
9. ACO annual membership
10. Travel insurance

The above cost excludes fuel.

Note that using one of the well known ticket agencies would have worked out at about £1400 for items 1,3,4,5 & 6, alone according to their brochure.

Range Rover Sport Supercharged towing a twin axle caravan from Devon via Portsmouth/Caen with grandstand tickets, camping in Houx and GE cost £1000 for three of us.

Then add beer and food (sourced in the UK between three) and fuel = 3 tankfuls at about £120 a tank.

But we do have cold beer, Sky TV and a roast beef dinner on the Sunday evening. Along with proper fry ups and evening meals.

Take about £300 normally after driving costs. We managed to do it on £100 last year not much beer or good food but.... Was better than watching it at home! excluding tickets and fuel of course!
