Myself and a few mates are planning on breaking our Le Mans cherry next year. Usual routine of ferry/car/camping (and lots of beer) but I'm currently struggling to find much info on booking the camping and tickets.

Could someone point me in the right direction.

Cheers

Also www.lemans.org for the official site, where you can join the ACO's Club24 for discounts on entry, camping and grandstands. This is the cheapest way of doing it, but can be infuriating at times.

Additionally there are places like Page&Moy, Just Tickets, Airtrack etc. which will sell packages including travel for varying rates of value.

Yes we have been going since '99, watch out you become hooked.

We have bought tickets from the ACO, Ebay, Motor Racing International and one othe rbunch whose name escapes me right now.

This is my Le Mans web site: www.teamsquack.com which is really a bunch of photos and the like, but as you you will see (if you look) there are a few pages still to be built, shuch as how to get there, geting tickets etc etc. But hopefully it will give you a general idea.

All i can really suggest is do it!! You will not regret it for one minute.

Thanks for all that - I feel a lot less clueless now!

Guess I just need some of these operators to update their sites for 2005 and make sure I don't miss the boat.

Some more directions other than South:

www.beermountain.com or www.the-twats.com for what awaits you on the other side of the fence.

Be carefull and don't drown.

Don't worry about it, firstly the date for next year isn't yet confirmed by the ACO and secondly despite all the hype it is pretty straightforward to get tickets nearer to the time.

This year you could still buy camping tickets from the ACO until May - OK only Beausejour and Technopark but it's still achievable without having to go to eb**. There were lots of camping tickets on here and Club Arnarge right up till the race weekend.

You can buy general admittance tickets on the gate over the weekend itself.

Happy to help with tickets.

Have a personal bug bear with having to pay more than face value for things readily available like general admission tickets.

You're usually paying over the face value for tickets bought in bulk for less than face value with booking agents.

Will be picking up lots of peoples at next years pre-qualifying and more than happy to add yours to the list...

I thought Beausejour was a good pitch this year, even the bogs and showers were OK.

And as you say, just a 5 min stroll to Speedchills which was good for the www.teamsquack.com boys this year. Nice cold lager beats the hell out of warm bottled lager.

I camped in Beausejour this year for the first time. But we're just going to go on the huge grass car park near the aerodrome next year and camp there (I know you aren't aloud to camp there but so many people were).
