Can any one recommend any good cheap sites just outside Le Mans rather than the busy ACO sites?
We'll be there Thursday night for a week so we'd prefer a nice site with good facilities as planning to do the Loire Valley after the weekend and have a bit of a holiday.
Any good car museums or events to visit nearby after?
Cheers

Camping La Vieux Moulin in Neuville Sur Sarthe. Nice site in a decent spot right by the Sarthe. I haven`t got the number but I`m sure google will help.

The LE Mans museum is well worth a look round and you can also try and find the old Grand Prix course (courses) in Tours.

Try here mate ....... www.chateau-de-chanteloup.com/ about 15km's north of Le Mans along a stonking good road. Fairly cheap and very friendly. Just don't go nicking the good pitches before we arrive on the Friday

Chaps,

I'm sure these campsites are much nicer than Maison Blanche but I really enjoyed the 4.30am alarm call trackside when 7 GT40s roared through - by the time they were round again I was on the banking!

There were so few people camping (MB was c.50% full) that all facilities were able to cope - there was never more than 5 in the shower queue! V. different from the main event - civilised even!

Hope this helps for 2 years time...

Hi,

I would really recommend Club Motorsport's site about 5km from Arnage - all the details can be found at www.clubmotorsport.org.uk but i went over for the first time this year for the 24h and 24h classic and had a great time. The facilities are great and there's a good buzz about the place and a fantastic stretch of road running past it where many a record attempt was made!

Cheers for now
