LeMans piccys of the Smart anyone??
Discussion
Havent got a decent shot of my car due to dads p!ss poor camera work at arnage corner (see profile/current car) - anyone manage to take pitty and break out thier camera for the Smart LM???
Also any vids (bph?) most welcome too
btw thats approx 35mph(according to my speedo) through arnage corner - the real racers do it at 49mph, but they can use the whole corner!!
Short wheel base, reasonable turn in - lift off oversteer.
Thanks in advance,
Ben CA

I wouldn't say they were that safe. Did you see my mates arm?? He chopped it off because he rolled his smart car and his arm went through the glass roof. Fortunetely for modern medicine and good Doctors he had it surgically put back on. He was telling me that the Gulf Smart was part of the S2 Cruise club (Sheffield 2) I think it must stand for???????

Thanks RG, did notice you hanging out of that chim to get a piccy while laughing hysterically actually Shame we didnt get to see you, although I understand dad will/has been in contact - and im sure I'll see you at PF??
John, having crashed a smart myself (admittedly at a reasonably low speed, but enough speed to do a fair bit of damage *to the other car) I honestly believe its probably the safest shopping trolley to take a knock in.
The Gulf smart took a fair whack at 75kph and the damage doesnt look *too* bad, the damage didnt seem to go any further than the crumple zones actually. Your friend sounds very unfortunate, but to be fair - he could have had the same problem with a window or windscreen in any car.
I believe the smart to be extremely safe, if I didnt, I wouldnt drive it. Then you add in the active safety - that extremely forgiving and superbly grippy attitude has helped me avoid a fair few huge accidents already (muppets pulling out on me, dad reckons I need a more obvious colour scheme )

John - I remember now - I saw you when I'd been off blagging passenger rides and lost my lift! Yeah, they came back to get me - I had the map!
Ben - were you driving? Be afraid... I was in a Griff when I took your pic! Your dad did leave me a message, but last week was a bit manic. Will be in touch this week.
