I know this is long shot but....my missus had her purse stolen by the Pikeys at the Podium Celebration. I don't expect to get the cash or the cards back but the purse contained some sentimental items such as a St Chrisopher etc she'd like to have back. The purse was about 3.5" square , black fabric with a silver name plate on it. If anyone found it on the floor etc please get in touch ...thanks.

I've got my fingers crossed for you.
Just a thought; could it have been lifted while we were waiting at the metal gate to get onto the track?

Hey Snorky, guess what, I was hit by an Artic just leaving Dover Port, I had literaly exited the port.
All the way to Le Mans and back without a scratch and then leaving Dover Port an left hand drive Artic changed lanes into the side of me. I was in the right hand lane coming round the roundabout. It took off the passenger wing mirror, stripped the paint down the side and sheared off the leading edge of the rear wheel arch.

The daftest thing is I was doing about 20-25 mph when I saw the artic start to move across the lane, I thought he was moving round an object such as a cycle, but then he kept coming across, he forced me between the curb and himself. Thankfully there is no real damage done other than a lot of cosmetics and some body work.

What an end to a great few days away.

Didn't go this year, but attitude difference between sides of channel noticeable each time we went. Even between people who we'd driven up through France with (not people we knew but in convoy with) who turned into middle lane hogging, mouthing-off idiots as soon as they landed on the Blighty side, but were the modicum of polite and efficiently *quick* drivers in France...

Never understood that at all....

i think that we (British) make more of an effort over there, being a *different* driving experience, wrong side of the road etc.

When we get back home, just slip into bad habits etc...

Shame though as it really was that noticeable a change!

Have just returned from the annual Sortie 10 blast to Le Mans and apres race Alpine Assualt.

Was watching the drivers parade in the City Square, (not far from the guys who jumped out in front of McRae, and massaged the babes on bikes) when I found a pikey with his hand on my wallet. By a fraction of a second I rescued the situation. Wished I had punched the felon (dressed like a race fan - baseball cap, Sony digital camera - nicked?) in the knackers, more so when I heard that someone else was done a few minutes later.
Gutted to discover (a few days later) that my video was still running and I have pictures of the thief.
Next year I'll be wearing "happy hiker" trousers with zipped pockets.

I hope no PH'er was done by this pickpocket.

Snorky

I think I ran in to Mrs Snorky at the end of race celebrations. I guess no good news! My only suggestion at the time was to contact to Raio LM. In reality I suspect the wallet was just lifted by a thief & later discarded after the important stuff (cash & cards) had been taken.

Commiserations.

We backtracked hoping we might find the purse minus the cash...but it's long gone ...still, we got the pleasure of spending 4 hours in the cop shop instead of at the TVR celebrations....pikey b*stards!
