modified tvr's

Yep saw these two, think the griff with the tuscan front end is quite good. Its been around a little while now and could have even been the inspiration for the Tuscan2 IMHO.
The maxed Tuscan though, is emm an acquired taste . A little bit like a looney tunes cartoon to me, each to their own though.

I saw the tuscan a few times over the weekend, and I have to say the job seems to have been done well, but it did make me realise what a 'purist' I am. ie I'll let the car desginers do their job and trust them to do it well - maybe slightly misplaced faith when you look at some of the TVR output, or skoda, or Nissan, or Ford.....

There's something about those stepped out sills coupled with the rounded roofline that makes me think maxxed Morris Minor when I look at the Tuscan.
No excuse for those exhausts, either they have some crap looking weeny-exhaust inserts or that car's lost a shed-load of power...! They looks bloody awful.
Probably just me. Either way, no thanks to either of them. Improving factory body styling is a difficult skill to master and only a fraction of the companies that try it actually manage it. The rest look like tat and despite the undoubted quality of the finish, these two fall into that latter category for me.
TVR's and body styling are a bit like BMW's with alloy wheels. Very very few aftermarket wheels on Beemers look better than the OEM items. Alpina's multispokes are timeless and there's a few AC Schnitzer wheels that look OK, but that's about your lot.
Fair play if you like them, each to their own.

roop ,have you based all your views on that one photograph or have you seen either of these cars ? David
That Tuscan, on the other hand, made me want to blow chunks. Not my cup of tea at all.
Is it just me, or did the Chim have unusually high ground clearance? Although it could have just been where it was parked I suppose.
I don't mind the body mods personally, its those exhausts that are grim.
Was looking at the new scobby FQ340 at the canary wharf motorshow yesterday. Can't believe it comes with an exhaust that big as standard. Its almost like saying 'hey ladies my cock is this wide too'...
... and just as convincing.
DanH said:I agree about the exhausts, but I think the front was pretty revolting too. So much so that I didn't even notice the skirts until I saw the picture. They are by far and away the best mods I've seen on the car.

erm.... Mitsi Evo actually
anyway, the modded Tivs:
I think that the exausts on the Tuscan are a bit OTT on the Tuscan, but the skirts look good, and the griff has been done very nicely. i generally say i hate modified cars, but I judge each one as it comes, some are ok if tastfully/minimally done and to a high standard.
Just those two photies David. Neither are my cup of tea. I really don't like cars with bodywork that isn't 99% stock. Be that a full on fibreglass kit affair or boot spoiler - 99% of the time they just look wrong to me. I can live with a nice set of wheels or a subtle stainless exhaust (usually just for the sound) but that's about it. All IMHO of course and as I said, I don't have any issues with those that do like them. I take it you have one of those cars or a similar modified vehicle...?

I have to say I didnt like the griff when I first saw it on here a few months ago - spoke to the owner (hi ) in arnage about it (still want pics of a Cerb conversion!) and have to say the car was gorgeous!! Really does look superb in the plastic, should have taken some piccys.
The Tuscan however, was not my kind of car...
